“Kuredu Island Resort - a beautiful island in the heart of the Indian Ocean”

My Impression of Kuredu Island Resort: Kuredu is an absolutely beautiful island resort. The sand is softer and whiter than I have ever seen before. The waters are irridescently clear and bright with an abundance of fascinating sea life. The variety of plants and trees is amazing and it is a peaceful, calm and very relaxing place to be. However, for my husband and I, 7 days on paradise were more than enough to satisfy our desires to rest, relax and unwind. Not everyone will agree with me, but due to the limited access to neighbouring islands and the high cost of most excursions, we were limited to 2 trips (although 1 was cancelled due to rough waters) and would have loved the opportunity to do more. There is little to do on the island in terms of evening entertainment, and if you do not enjoy snorkelling or fishing, this island isn't necessarily for you. Nonetheless, we returned feeling completely rejuvenated and refreshed, safe in the knowledge that we had enjoyed a much needed rest after a very busy and stressful year behind us, and grateful for the opportunity to see such a beautiful place.

Area recommendations
Kuredu Island Resort is around 1KM in length and takes around just 1 hour to explore. It is a very secluded and tiny island.
Getting there
Getting to the resort is a long journey. After travelling to Male, the capital, you are required to wait for your air taxi in the waiting lounge until your plane arrives. This isn't an issue,however don't forget that most people will have travelled for hours to get here, and with therefore be extremely tired and jet-lagged. I would imagine that for children this journey would be very difficult after travelling for many hours, and the sea plane is a very cramped 45 minute journey (with an additional 5 minute stop-off at a neighbouring island).

“Kuredu resort”

Went twice already. The island had developped since then since the management added more bungalows on several part of the island. Went with two kids this time. Very good except the poor welcoming of the diving club, especially the french instructor.

“Absolutely lovely”

We loved this place! Stunning beaches and although one of the bigger islands in the Maldives, quite secluded. We stayed in the Sangu Water Villas, service was fantastic. Can't wait to go back! MJ

“Great quality and natural resort in Maldives”

Kuredu Island Resort is full filling all expectations : natural beauty, watersport, romatic location, great eating and resting. Quality of resort is multipled awarded and it deserve it ! We also enjoyed friendliness of local staff and quality of all services. Great vacations !

“Kuredu : un petit air de paradis, voir plus!”

Attention, souvent le prix de l'hydravion (45 minutes aller) n'est généralement pas compris. Une ile relativement grande pour l'archipel, donc de belles plages où marcher. Un récif maison (à gauche au bout de la jetée) des plus sympas (corail, épave) même si on se retrouve vite à 15/20m - pas facile en palmes/masque/tubat. Un grosse ile donc, une capacité d'hébergement importante mais pour autant, nous avions l'impression d'être seuls au monde. Les restos sont sympas. Et surtout les activités autres que la plongée ne manquent pas: sport en tout genre (tennis, badminton, ping pong, volley tous les soirs), canoe/pedalo.. Bref à conseiller aux jeunes mariés comme aux familles...

“Kuredu Resort - Excellent vacations”

Very good, one problem with the booking/payment but Expedia has been very professional and sorted it out smoothly. Great hotel, excellent service from Expedia. Marine life is amazing, I am a scuba diver but really enjoyed much more snorkelling on the beach (mantas, sharks, turtles). It is a true aquarium. Rooms in O resort are very nice, service excellent. Prices for drinks and food are reasonable for such kind of resort. All the family had a very good time there.

“Ganz nett”

Die Zimmer sind nur dann schön, wenn die teureren nimmt. Wir haben alle von innen gesehen und die Garden und Beach Bungalows sind nicht schön. Die anderen Villas hingegend sind modern und sehr komfortabel. Das Essen ist recht lecker, aber die Auswahl ist nicht so groß wie in anderen Hotels auf den Malediven. Die Lagunen Seite der Insel ist schön zum schwimmen und sehr gut zum schnorcheln. (man muss allerdings min 150 - 200m raus schwimmen) Der Rest der Insel ist nicht wirklich schön zum schwimmen, da eine Seite komplett mit Wellenbrechern vollgestellt ist. Das Wasser dort ist auch nicht klar und voller Seegras. Der "O" und "Sangu" Teil der Insel ist toll und auf vier Sternelevel, der rest allerdings eher drei Sterne. Die mehrheit der Kellner ist nur nett, wenn man ihnen oft und/oder einmal viel Trinkgeld gibt.

Traveller's tip
Für den ersten Malediven Urlaub gut, aber wer andere Inseln oder Hotels dort kennt wird es nicht so sehr geniessen können.
