The hotel is modern, set in a beautiful location, the breakfast was amazing, not a full English but a perfect continental.
The hotel seems to be short staffed and the staff are not friendly at all, to the point where you feel a burden to ask a question.
Also the hotel closes at 11pm so if you arrive later you may have to stay elsewhere. Our flight was delayed and we got lost finding the hotel- i rang the mobile number left on the door- and it was an effort to get the staff to let us in.
The balcony view was beautiful and the hotel is just away from the small beach area near the river. Such a beautiful place, would recommend to everyone
Had a short 4 day break here 11 years after our last stay at this very hotel.Things have improved greatly at the hotel.Malcesine is a quaint cobbled town with lots of bars.We could sit all day at a waterside bar and people watch as the tourists came off the boats.
We stayed here for our wedding in August and loved it. The hotel felt very homely. It is in an excellent location in a quiet spot on the edge of the busy town. All staff were helpful and friendly, especially Lucca who dealt with our queries and requests. He was fabulous... "grazie mille Lucca!" We hope to return in the near future and this hotel would definitely be our first choice.
Lovely small family run hotel which was full but not crowded. Staff all very friendly from reception to maids to breakfast. Waiter even remembered each tables different requests. Lovely breakfast either inside or outside overlooking the picturesque gardens.
Comfortable room with everything expected and balcony with mountain views.
Thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would stay here again.

"Very good hotel, though a bit far from the centre."
In all, this was a very good place for us to stay (myself, my wife & 14-year-old son). Our room and balcony had a great view across the lake to the mountains on the other side. The fact that the room included a fridge and some cooking facilities gave more flexibility, especially in the mornings. We were travelling Italy with a hired car, so the hotel's free underground garage was a valuable asset. And my wife spent some happy hours in the hotel's outdoor swimming pool. Malcesine is an excellent centre from which to explore Lake Garda by car. Also try the boat trip across to Limone. And definitely don't miss the astounding views and Alpine meadows at Malcesine's highest cable-car terminal. The only drawback was that the town centre was about 3 kilometres along the coast from the hotel. We walked it a couple of times (which would usually be our preference)… but later found it more convenient and less time-consuming to go by car. The atmosphere in the town centre was pleasant and the service at the many restaurants was (typically for Northern italy) friendly and helpful.

Our stay at Hotel Peler was excellent and would definately go back if was staying in Lake Garda in future. Owner could not have been more helpful or accommodating during our short stay. Perfect location with amazing views of the lake and close to all bars and restaurants. Room was spotless and cleaned daily. Friends who were staying in the area at the same time, commented how they wish they'd booked into Hotel Peler also as it was truly excellent value for money

On the eastern shore of Lake Garda, Malcesine has been a popular tourist destination since Roman times. Today, it bustles with life as cafés, bars, restaurants, and boutiques line the narrow, cobbled streets that lead to a picturesque harbor. Hiking trails nearby provide splendid views of the area's flora and fauna, as well as of the lake and Alps. Sailing and windsurfing are also popular activities.
