Second stay here

Pros: very quiet and relaxing with friendly staff
Cons: few more facilities for children
Lovely little hotel perfect for a quiet get away. The eateries just outside the resort are amazing I highly highly recommend Da Vinci and Devines.

The perfect retreat.

Pros: Location, the well kept gardens, the pool areas, children's entertainment, on-site bar and catering, the convenience of alternative catering off-site.
Cons: Nothing, but as an added rider, it should be noted that the resort is situated on a slope and may cause difficulty for the more physically challenged.
Location: There is a good selection of affordable eateries close to the resort.
We visited Dona Lola in early June as a family, our daughter, her husband and three grand daughters and also the other grand parents. My wife and I have been visiting here for the past ten years and will continue to do so as the setting is idyllic with the apartment blocks situated amongst well kept gardens with several soothing water features. The main swimming pool is in fact two pools inter-connected by a swimmable canal around the restaurant. There is also a children's pool and a 'adult only' pool located in a quiet area, all this is adjacent the Mediterranean coast, the local beach, a dozen steps below is interesting for children with rock pools to explore and sea shells to collect. Sandy beaches are located a few hundred yards east or west of the resort and new wooden walk-ways are being constructed to facilitate access to beaches further afield. Self-catering here is easy, on-site restaurant and bars and just off-site there are several reasonably priced eateries and a mini market. A larger super-market and alternative restaurants are reachable by crossing the road via a pedestrian bridge or underpass.

Apartment

The apartment was the best kitted out I have ever stayed at. No need to take ANY TOWELS. hair dryer juicer soaps of all kinds dishwasher iron. Everything you could need is supplied. Spotlessly clean every where. Close to the beach. No need to go off site if you don't want to. All staff are so helpful and friendly. Can't do enough for you. Must go again soon

Pros: Two nice restaurants, very pleasant adults-only pool, comfortable, fully equipped apartment.
Cons: The fitted wardrobe and chest of drawers smelled very strongly of damp so I couldn't use them.
Location: It is out-of-town. Bus every 30 mins. Beach boardwalks for morning and evening strolls/jogs. Water-sports. Club has daily activities and day trips
Very pleasant stay, not too hot in May. Enjoyed early morning walks along the beach. Had freshly baked croissants and bread every morning from the mini-market in front of the Dona lola. Local beach too rocky for swimming. Needed to walk quite a long way to find a clear section for bathing. Dona Lola adults-only pool very pleasant. Didn't actually spend much time at the resort. Went on hotel coach trip to Mijas, a very picturesque village up in the hills. Visited Malaga old town which has some interesting buildings but it was very hot.

Très bon sejour

Posted 05-May-2015
