“The best holiday hotel and spa”

Salenza Hotel i found was really to class as there hotel rooms and spa's are to die for. Prices where very reasonable but the only thing that frustrates me was the food which they never had a wide selection and the area this establishment is at. But if you have a car you don't have to worry much as there's loads of shops and restaurant about 1 mile down the road.

Area recommendations

I recommend travelling to Marbella as there are tourist place there from beaches to gift shops.

“Atalya Park Golf Hotel has no Golf on site!”

We only stayed at the Atalaya Park Golf Hotel due to the Selenza Hotel being overbooked.The Hotel is rather isolated from bars and restaurants and can be quite difficult to find initially. The room was okay but a little dated with the door to the balcony being rather creaky and heavy. Breakfast was good with a variety of food on offer and we dined once in the evening in the Hotel's restaurant.This was a bit expensive for what it was-a buffet where one could serve yourself. Parts of this Hotel are quite dated and need upgrading and the beach is rather more of a shingle one rather than sand. We would not book here by choice again.

Area recommendations

Estepona is a lovely place to visit -although we were there in the low season.The marina area is particularly pleasant and the older parts of the town have numerous squares populated by restaurants and bars. Ronda some distance inland is a must for any tourist especially the road journey itself.This gives you superb views of the surrounding coastline including Gibraltar and the city of Ronda is full of character. Porto Benous is an eye opener if you are interested in yachts and boats-some huge vessels to be seen here but be aware of the cost of having any refreshment in the marina area -very expensive!

“Great Spa and lovely breakfast!!”

THe brekfast exceeded all expectations. THere was a great selection of good quality products and a large variety from which to choose from. It was excellent!!!

“Good but not the best”

This was a beautiful hotel and overall, we enjoyed our stay. There are just a few things that I wasn't totally pleased with: - A double room was actually 2 single beds (with single bed sheets) pushed together. - We stayed in this hotel during low season (end of Nov). We knew the weather wouldn't be hot so our main requirement was to choose a hotel with an indoor swimming pool. The description on Expedia did say that this hotel had an indoor pool. But when you get there, you realise that you can only use the pool for free once (as part of the spa circuit voucher). After that you have to pay for it as it's part of the spa. I thought this was a bit ridiculous. Hotel guests should be able to use the indoor pool for free. - hotel guests get NO discounts on the spa treatments and they are quite pricey. - I was pregnant when we stayed in the hotel and I was looking forward to a bit of pampering during our stay. Unfortunately, I couldn't take advantage of the massages or body wraps and the facials were way too expensive. I would have loved to have gotten a manicure or pedicure but these types of services are not offered. The treatment list is quite limited. - Breakfast was nice but inconsistent. On our first morning we were offered eggs & bacon. On our next 3 mornings, no-one offered us any form of hot breakfast.

Area recommendations

We were there in low season so these comments may not apply to the high season: - Estepona town centre was very small and quiet but had some lovely eating places - Marbella was more interesting to walk around in the evening. The restaurants felt more touristy and less authentic than the ones we tried in Estepona though. - On our last night we went to Puerto Bunas. This is an area for the rich tourists. Don't think I'd go back in the high season. But going there in the low season was a pleasant experience although we would have enjoyed more Spanish tapas type restaurants. Most of the restaurants in this area were Italian or seafood restaurants

Traveller's tip

Taxis are very expensive. It's about 17 euros each way to Estepona and 25 euros each way to Marbella. For a return trip in one evening, this adds up to quite a bit. Next time, I think I would rent a car to get around.

“Lovely contemporary hotel - just a wee bit away from the action”

Good hotel in all respects. Only slightly negative comment would be that it is away from any main drag ie Puerto Banus 10km and Estepona 8km. This means that either a hire car or use of taxis are essential if you are dining out.

“Great Hotel in Estepona”

This is an excellent place to stay if you do not wish to be right on the beach. All the facilities you require are provided by the hotel. My only criticism is that whilst the buffet breakfast is excellent the dining menus at other times of the day or night are fairly limited.

La Capannina Ristorante Italiano is an excellent restaurant within 5 mins taxi ride from the hotel for a special treat

A night away with a girlfriend as a treat! It was certainly that and value for money too. spa circuit was fab! treatments ok prices too

“Very good, worth considering.”

The Hotel looks fairly modern and is very clean and tidy. A reasonable choice of continental buffet at breakfast. The only slight downside to this hotel is the location...it is not close to the beach. We did not bother to drive to see how long it would take, but the pool area is very good. It is quite close to the road, but this did not cause any problems. We did not have time to use the spa facilities, but they lookded very nice. I would be happy to stay again and recommend.

Only a 5-10 minute drive to a wide range of Restaurant choices (along the road heading towards Malaga).
