“Good hotel in the centre of Old Town”
I stayed in Malaga Centro in October 2011, for one night only. The hotel has great location, as it’s only 5 min. away from the historical part of Malaga and also not so far from the sea. My room was quite small, but it was clean and had everything I needed for the short stay. I saw other rooms and they were quite big. The service at the reception was excellent. There is a bar and a small pool on the roof of the hotel; I enjoyed a couple of hours there. It’s a roof pool, so don’t expect Olympic size, it’s about enough to have a splash and cool yourself after time in the sun. I also noticed the hotel has a spa and a small gym. If you plan to stay in Malaga, I can definitely recommend the hotel as a good point to do sightseeing of Old Town. Was very happy with my short stay there.
“Great hotel, neat rooftop bar with city views”
Was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room incl bathroom, and proximity to downtown was good. Great rooftop bar, cool vibe in the evening. Great value overall.
“Excellent Hotel in every way”
Our first time to Malaga City and would return , the Hotel Centro made our 5 days a most enjoyable break. For us as a couple what made this Hotel was the swimming pool on the roof what a way to unwind after a busy morning sight seeing to have a lovely cold beer at the Bar and cool off around the pool. Would reccomend like us upgrade to a Superior room worth the extra money...
“Not Impressesd”
I have traveled all over the world and stopped in many hotels at various price ranges. I am often doubting of some peoples assessments especially relating to food as I think if it's not what people normally eat they will criticize for that reason. Regarding the breakfast at 12 euros, I was prepared to pay that for convenience although I though it was well over priced. At 8.30am there were only 2 people in the restaurant and whether you were looking for continental or English/American it really did look unappetizing and very much lacking in variety. As said I've eaten all over the world, but for particularly for 12 euros this was the worst I've seen, so I decided against it. In fairness, I have to say the room and hotel was kept scrupulously clean and the hotel was run with very great efficiency. I did have a couple of problems in my room which were dealt with straight away by pleasant and friendly staff. Also the reception staff were very efficient and pleasant. My main complaint was the size of the room, which was the smallest and most cramped that I have ever stayed in anywhere in the world. The bed which was supposed to be a double was a small one indeed. Also the space around the bed was in my opinion totally inadequate, being at the most not even one metre and the least just over half a metre. I could not feel comfortable for that reason. I have never bothered to write a hotel report before, but felt in this case compelled to do so. I would not recommend here
“average hotel nothing spectacular about it”
I stayed here from July 27th till 1st august. I upgraded to the superior room, which i was so pleased about it as the standard room was bog standard. We arrived and the hotel looked rather outdated. We had breakfast on the first morning for 12 euros. There was not much choice, hot breakfast food was disgusting, the only good thing about breakfast was fresh fruit and toast.we never had breakfast again. evening meals was just as bad,i ordered steak in which it was just rubber with soggy bread. Hotel food was expensive and very bland. much better to eat in malaga plaza centre tasty food at the same price. This hotel i would say is not a 4* but 3* room was lovely,a little cleaniness lacked.staff seemed friendly and pool was small.
“very well hotel for malaga”
clean, central place, well services especially reception and pool bar.if I go to malaga again, only stay at this hotel.thank you for everything to all hotel centro personel.it was wery nice holiday.
“Good value”
Friendly, helpful reception with very good English. Problem with wardrobe door and safe fixed immediately once we brought it to their attention. Cosy lounge area, cute little bar area for pastry and coffee, or evening drinks. Roof terrace fantastic, with great views of the city, the Alcazaba and the Gibralfaro. I would certainly recommend this place although a bit of a walk to the centre (but ok if you're young and fit)
“Long Weekend in Malaga”
Hotel was better than we expected. The room was large. Breakfast and dinner were fine (although not exceptional). The immediate surrounding area appeared slightly run-down but a 30 second walk across the bridge immediately led to the historic part of town. The only disappintment was the car parking - we used the hotel secure car park and had not been told there was a charge for it unitl we checked out and found the cost was greater than the hire car!
“MUY disappointed”
I booked my stay at this hotel months in advance, along with four other couples. On my reservation I had a king bed, non smoking room. I had looked at the pictures and the rooms were new and modern looking. When i checked in, the bed was a queen, the whole floor was so smoky it was like i walked into a bar, and i could not even fit out luggage in the room it was so small. i had to put it in the bathroom. I went and complained along with the other couples that were with us. They said sorry but all of their other rooms on the non smoking floors were booked except for one. They upgraded me that room at no charge for the first night and 15 euros extra for the following two nights.(SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN CHARGED AT ALL). This was the room i was seeing in the pictures, very nice. Spacious, Modern, smoke free, king bed and clean, beautiful hard wood floors and large closets. Only problem was that the air conditioner did not work, so at midnight they came to check on it and the filter was so dirty it was nasty. They cleaned the filter and put it back in and it worked slightly better after that. The following questions were answered about the BIGGER MUCH NICER ROOM THAT I WAS EVENTUALLY PUT INTO.
“NEVER GOING BACK!!!!”
The reception people were really rude to us and the seemed not to bother to help. They gave us the worst room possible that had a window overlooking an internal emergency stair , no light was coming in the room and no fresh air! The bed was terrible, it was the hardest bed i ve slept on, even in the army i served we had softer beds and pillows!!! Also not to mention the rooms tiny size!!! Just dont go there, this is not a 4 star hotel.
