“Nice, but not great”
Stayed for 3 nights, had two deluxe rooms booked but only one was ready on arrival in a near empty hotel which was rather annoying. we had to hang about for an hour 1/2, two hours after check-in time.... Pools and spa are great, as was the bar service, and breakfast was plenty and fresh... good amount of choice. The only upsetting part of our stay was that we had an early check out and having had breakfast included for 4 people, on checking out , we were charged 40 euro each for every breakfast. When I asked this to be taken off my bill, AFTER POINTING OUT FOR THE THIRD TIME THAT BREAKFAST WAS INCLUDE, my bill was changed. Not a nice ending to a relaxing w/end.
“My fifth stay and booking another!”
I love this hotel and have taken several friends to stay. It is old fashioned with a slight faded elegance but the staff could not be more helpful and the pools (six) which include heated out door pools are fabulous. The spa is fantastic and towels/robes and slippers are all provided. Drinks and meals are expensive but the inclusive breakfast sets you up for the day. Free bus service to Marbella a plus as car parking in Marbella is a nightmare. Swimming out side in November is a wondeful experience and there are daily aquarobics for all to join in.
“a must for anyone wanting a rest a top class treatment”
One of the best hotels i have stayed in for many years. The breakfast buffet was top class and all the spa and pool and treatments were second to none. I cant wait for time off work so that i can take another trip there. Would not think twice about re- booking and would recomend the hotel to anyone. top class thank you
“Very happy”
Enjoyed our stay very much and will be returning
“A mixed bag! 4 Star at best!”
We stayed for 4 nights and found a number of positives and negatives. First the negatives: The staff are very laid back - I am allergic to alcohol and was served a non-alcoholic cocktail with alcohol in it - "but don't worry, there isn't much in" was the quote! Breakfast staff can be very slow. The prices for meals and drinks v expensive - the lunchtime buffet is 59 euros each! Decor needs substantial improvement, our junior suite had regular, and untraceable terrible smells!! They were never properly solved or rectified. The plus points were the excellent spa, the outside areas, particularly the pools and the overall ambience of the building. Food was good overall. Reception staff who spoke English v helpful. Free bus to Marbella a welcome idea, though be prepared to share it with staff and be driven all over Marbella as they are dropped off - v exciting! Recommended as long as you realise this is a 3-4 star hotel with 5 star prices and pretentions!
“Lovely hotel - beautiful gardens”
This hotel is one of a group of 'historic hotels' and is very tastefully decorated. The best thing is it has 6 swimming pools, 2 indoor, both heated. 2 outdoor pools are heated, which is very unusual. A swimmers paradise! The breakfast is excellent, but eating at hotel is expensive. Most people use hire car and also use hotel bus which goes into Marbella every hour, and will take you back at night.
