“Great location, atmosphere and value”

We spent 3 nights in Hotel San Francisco and would absolutely recommend it! It's just a block off the main pedestrian street, so the location is convenient but it's still quiet in the rooms. The attached cafe had a good, reasonably priced breakfast. Staff was friendly & helpful and all staff members appeared to speak at least some English. The room decorations are charming; overall great value!

Area recommendations
I'd recommend the area around Calle Espinea -- the main pedestrian street through Ronda -- in the new side of town. The street offers the most shopping and concentration of restaurants. Only a short walk to the bridge, the bull ring, or into the more historical side of Ronda.
Must see
Two things that should not be missed by the active traveler: 1. Hike down to the bottom of the gorge to see the waterfalls leading to the river under the new bridge. There's a moderately maintained footpath leading down on the "old side" of Ronda, close to the bridge. Go in the afternoon when the lighting is right to reproduce the famous postcard picture of the bridge. 2. Rent a bike! We rented hybrids from Cycle Ronda and went for ~30 miles out to the surrounding white villages. Cycle Ronda offered multiple routes and great turn sheets. Make sure you're prepared for the mountain climbs!

“Great place to stay in Ronda”

Five of us stayed two nights in 3 rooms and found it affordable, clean and centrally located. Good quiet air conditioning. Parking is about a 10 minute walk away in an underground lot for 8 Euro (regular price about 17). Very helpful staff.

Area recommendations
There are walking trails under the bridge to the old city which have great views. The food and service was great at El Faustino just around the corner.

“Hotel San Francisco, Ronda, Spain”

No TV remotes in the room - had to ask at front desk & they did not have any. TV in room was not working - could not switch me to another room or take a remote from another room. Front desk could not tell me how to phone my friend´s room from my room. No wake up service available.

“good location, friendly staff”

we took the bus from sevilla to ronda. it was generally close to the bus and train station, within walking distance. there is no need for a car or public transportation while in town, everything is in walking distance. it was really close to the bridge and restaurants, one street away from the main street. the staff spoke english, very friendly and helpful. the room was a good size and quiet. the bathroom was really big. downsides. there was hair in the bed when we checked in and no internet connection. the bridge is worth the trip, it is truly amazing and we would go back in a second.

“Could do better”

Ronda is a really good location.

Area recommendations
Ronda is beautiful and accessible. The bus station is walking distance and the taxi service is great too.
Getting there
The main thing to keep in mind is Ronda is over an hour away from Malaga Airport and taxi fares are expensive. Public transportation is cheaper but not that pleasant.

“Perfect for our needs”

The Hotel San Francisco was the perfect choice for our trip. The room was clean, cool, and had all the utilities we needed. Admittedly the television was stuck on one channel but that didn't bother us, as the channel was highly amusing. The receptionists are all very friendly and helpful, and the hotel really is situated in a fantastic position in Ronda. However, I would recommend that one person you are travelling with can speak Spanish, otherwise you could struggle a little. You can find everything from walking from the hotel, and it is just behind the main shopping street. The hotel is the perfect choice for people who simply want to store their clothes and have a comfortable place to sleep. Don't expect wonders from the hotel, but for the price, the hotel is a brilliant place to stay.

Traveller's tip
Be sure to take the walk, despite how gruelling it can be, from the Church with the Fountain of Eight Taps, down the Old Bridge and up to the Church Santa María la Mayor, and spend some time just drinking in the general beauty. Also, ensure you see the sun setting over the mountains at one of the many look out points in Ronda. The views are incredible.

“Great value in a cute hotel!”

Great value for a room with comfort and character. Hotel staff was friendly. Overall, this was the best value we received on a hotel during our stay in Spain. Quick walk to all sites, free breakfast, adorable room, and all for a great price! Not a two star hotel for sure!

Traveller's tip
We were in Ronda from Sat-Mon and everything expect tourist stores and tourist restaurants were closed. Made for quite a sleepy town. I'd recommend going during the week to take advantage of less expensive restaurants and a more vibrant scene.

Ronda, Spain: Set 35 kilometres inland, Ronda is a very picturesque, typical Andalusian town popular with Costa del Sol day trippers. Its emblematic feature is its bridge, spanning a vertiginous 150-metre deep gorge that dramatically bisects Ronda. There are plenty of historic visitor attractions including Spain’s oldest bullring (with museum), Arab baths, and a fine palace. Close by are a number of charming /ipueblos blancos/i (white villages), including Grazalema and Gaucín.
