“would go back again”
hotel good ,food could be better, bit too far out from bars n restaurants ,needs a courtousy room for later flights after being out all day
“Very Convenient”
Great hotel food and facilities excellent. Great place to base yourself with train service running past to Fuengirola one way and the airport and Malaga the other. Would certainly look at staying here again.
“Truly a Spanish Hotel”
Spent a very relaxing week at the Costa Royal, the staff are very helpful and welcoming, food plentiful but the wine is expensive. Only problem no cushions on the sunbeds or patio chairs. However if you are looking for a really spanish hotel in this is the one. Transport links are great as the cosal train is just round the corner.
“Great place to stay.”
Two stops down from Malga Airport by train (1 euro 35 cents single) the Royal Costa Hotel is a 2 minute walk from Los Alamos train station. It is situated in a residential area which is very neat and tidy. Just up a little hill there a a coulple of bars and cafes which offer really good value for money. The hotel itself is neat and tidy, has a large outdoor pool and a nice restuarant. Thje only little niggle I had was there was no tea/coffee making facilities in my room. Apart from that I would stay there again.
“not impressed”
the hotel was very clean. but to far away from anything, also it was not good entertainment for english. and the staff on the bar were very miserable. went down for breakfast at 9.40. ment to be served untill 10 but no one was in and also no smell of breakfast so my 4 days there never got any food there.would not stay here again. expected to be near the beach but it was not. it was my 40th birthday so it spoiled it a little bit.never mind you learn.
“Quiet hotel close to train station.”
We arrived at Malaga airport and caught the train from station C1 directon fuerngirola. The train costs 1.35Euros to go anywhere, and the hotel is just 2 stops from the airport. The hotel is a 2 min walk from Los Alamos station, to the North of the station. The hotel was very clean, rooms were basic with double bed and en-suite but very nice. We stayed Bed and Breakfast and had a variety of things to choose from for breakfast, we were not disappointed! The hotel is a 10 min walk to the beach, and about a 30 min walk into Torremelinos, along the promenade. You can catch the train very easily into Torremlinos and to Benlamadena marina (which is lovely, nice restaurants and shops) Although be warned in Benalmadena the station is a long walk from the marina! The hotel is in a residential area and there are no restaurants in the immediate area, there are beach restaurants on the beach about a 15 min walk away, but its a bit of a longer walk to find choice. All in all we had a very realxing holiday with lots of walking. If we went again I think we would stay in between Benalmadena and Torremelinos, as that is where all the restaurants and bars are, and there is a promenade in between.
“Quiet and good as a base”
We went here in October half-term and as such it was very quiet and the only other guests were spanish and german pensioners! - however, this did mean that a relax by the pool was lovely having it pretty much to ourselves! The hotel itself is in a residential neighbourhood next to the Los Alamos train stop and so a couple of stops away from 'Torry' -- which is good as that place is a dump! There are very few little shops and cafe/bars within walking distance, but if you want to get out for the day or night it is best to get on the train or bus and head to the main towns. I recommend a bus to Benal Medina which is a lovely port and beach area and has great restaurants, shops and bars. Also Fuengiorela (sp?) at the end of the train line has a HUGE flea market where lots of bargains can be had. Back to the hotel, it was clean and food was great unless you are a vegetarian like me (one night there wasn't a single non-meat option and even the peas had bacopn in with them!). For others though, plenty of choice and variety. Staff do not really speak much english and so enquiries become a little difficult but they are as helpful as they can be (beyond the odd grumpy barman doing his bit for spanish stereotyping!). All rooms have balconies and ask for a pool/sea view on the 4th or higher floors for the best rooms. Take a travel iron as they don't have irons to use and you would have to pay for their laundry service.
“September 2009”
Had a very nice stay, pool is large and clean, plenty of sun beds, music playing in outside pool area, close to the station Alamos, three stops from the airport Food Spanish and very nice, loads of salads. 5 min walk from the beach, 50 min walk into Torremolinos. Great for a few days of relaxing in the sun.
“Good hotel”
This hotel is a few train stations away from Malaga. Very clean, good food, near shops (Plaza Mayor Shopping Mall). If you miss your last train to the hotel, a taxi from Malaga costs about 15euro (2008).

Torremolinos, Spain: There is more than meets the stereotype to this Anglo-centric seaside resort. While most of Torremolinos is a brash high-rise heaven for fun-loving Brits, the low-rise western part is patronised by the Spanish and has a very different character. Soft golden sands stretch either side of town and there is a huge choice of entertainments by day and night. Aquapark is a white-knuckle water world; Tivoli World is the regions major theme park.
