“British Colonial Hotel in Spain”
Built by the Brits when constructing Spains railways. Excellent value considering location on edge of cliff, beautifully kept large pool and surrounding gardens, with ample tree shade could do with more loungers though. Room was in excellent condition but carpet at entrance to room was needing replacing, though room carpet was fine. Outside needed a lick of paint as it was beginning to peel in several places, shame. Very beautiful spot and quite tranquil one guest was enquiring about having their wedding there, it would be just great.
“nice older hotel near centre”
older hotel but well maintained Lovely room with private terrace (too large to be a balcony) overloooking the superb garden and view across valley 10 minutes walk (uphill) from centre of Ronda, car parking a little restricted due to building work Not the cheapest hotel but very nice indeed
“great getaway”
Great hotel ideally placed for town centre and great views from room and pool.
“Great Hotel Shame About The Service”
2nd visit here and the views never stop being amazing. The hotel is in a great place and has real charm. What a shame virtually every member of the staff were miserable and there is no atmosphere because of this. It is no wonder that you can spend a week here and hardly see anyone using the facilities, even though you know they are there because you see the cars come and go. The pool only opens for a short season and was closed from the second week in September crazy at 30 degrees. Without the pool there are much better choices here.
“Dissapointing. There must be better hotels in Ronda than this.”
Having what must potentially be one of the most spectacular views from a hotel balcony, across the valley between the gorge and the distant mountains, someone has seen fit to hide it behind a band of palm trees. Limited coice in the bar. Non-funtional air-conditioning in the room. There were no tea/coffee facilities in the room and the 'mini-bar' contained only water and soft drinks, despite snacks and beer being listed. The toilet needed 3, 4 or even 5 flushes to empty it. And this in a country which can get seriously short of water! There was no toilet brush. Noisy. Frequently woken by people coming and going. At one point a yapping dog in a room down the corridor also added to the general back-ground hubbub. A wardrobe with the hanging bar so high my wife had to stand on a chair to reach her clothes must have been designed by the same genious responsible for the toilet pan and the garden layout. Breakfast was plentiful and offered a wide choice but was expensive. Dinner was also good but again expensive, and the menu was limited and unvarying. All in all a very dissapointing stay and one which we could not recommend. There must be better hotels than this in Ronda. With a little bit of investment this could be a wonderful hotel.
