“See you next year.”
Having read some of the reviews on this Hotel my wife and I were very apprehensive, however, upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were most welcoming, food was still available although it had gone 11pm and our room was spacious and spotlessly clean. The Hotel is set out Court Yard fashion in that there were 3 floors laid out in a rectangle with balconies facing inwards toward a small pool, there was a larger one nearby, and a tennis court. Food was provided buffet style in island sites, hot and cold and a very large variety, anyone who could'nt find food to their likeing I can only consider over fussy. As trays ran low they were replaced with full fresh ones, the remainder was taken away and not put on top of the fresh, as one would normally expect. All in all the facilities were excellent and I would recommend the Hotel to anyone, value for money was exceptional.
“Relaxing Holiday”
Read a few reviews and was a bit doubtful but just wanted a short flight from southampton and a relaxing AI hotel. Hotel was very pretty, typical spanish white washed buildings with beautiful flowers and bushes. Rooms were basic but clean and had air con which some reviews have said there isnt. Entertainment wasent the best but it was something to watch/listen to. Food was ok, not all to my taste but i always found something i liked and could eat, never went hungry. Pool area nice and you can reserve your sunbed, its like a free for all when they open the pool in the morning with people putting there towels on the sunbeds. Its in a very quiet area but all i wanted was a short relaxing sunny holiday and thats what i got. There is a bar across the road open till around 3 am and a nightclub next door but didnt seem busy, although i never went to it. Drinks at pool bar are ok and are available from 10am till midnight, also help your self to coffee at the bar as well. Supermarket a 2min walk away, dont go to the little shop by buddies bar , coke and snacks much cheaper at supermarket. There was quite a few children there but that didnt bother me and think it would get busier with familys during the school holidays, it was still a relaxing hol and would go back.
“good for the money”
I would describe the hotel as a typical Andalucian style hotel offering good value for money and friendly service in an area that can be very over priced. The all inclusive option makes far more sense than paying 17 euros for 1 drink in the harbour. The room was cleaned daily and of a reasonable size, accomodating 4 beds for our 2 adults and 2 child guests. Although our balcony faced the main bar area we were suprised by the lack of disturbance due to noise. The level of noise you will experience will vary depending on other guests, the location of your room and your expectations. We live in a village in rural Spain and experience far more noise on a daily basis than we did during our break. A range of activities were available for adults and children alike. The range of food was fair though I feel if you were to stay over a longer length of time you would become a little bored with the menu. The mix during our stay seemed an equal mix of Spanish and British guests. You can walk to a local beach in 15 minutes through a residential area and Banus is roughly 20 mins walk away. The beaches are not fantastic being mainly shingle and having strong waves are not ideal for children or less confident swimmers. If you want isolated silence and over priced flash decor go somewhere else.If you want typical Andalucian charm warts and all, good value and a relaxing break in the sun this could be your place.
“2nd Time at this hotel”
Overall, the hotel had made a number of improvements since I stayed there last year. The room was good, although there were not enough beds for my party of 10. The facilities are excellent, with a constant flow of meals when you book on an all inclusive basis. If you hate Bingo (as I do) the entertainment kicks off with this every night, unfortunately you have to sit through it otherwise you will get a seat when the poorly performing tribute bands arrive. Besides this it was a good experience for the 2nd year in a row.
“Good hotel but not the best location”
Nice , rustic Spanish style hotel. But not in a great location due to massive road works going on.Local transport is very hit and miss.Food at hotel was good we were half board , most guest were all inclusive.Drink served in plastic glasses didnt appeal to us so headed to Buddies bar next door were you got your drink in proper glasses. The rooms of hotel surround the entertainment area so if you want an early night bring your earplugs as it goes on pretty late.We have always gone to Fuengirola and surrounding areas and find this a better location with transport and more to do do.But if you are happy to stay within the hotel complex i.e have a young family then its the place for you.You can do your own transfer by going to Marbella bus station and getting the airport bus to Malaga. airport for 5 euros.
“Ok for short breaks and for convenience for staying whilst visiting for family occasions”
Hotel was very pretty. But facilities very basic. Only one bar for a hotel this size is very surprising. Rooms are very basic and so was food. It met our needs as it was handy for staying whilst visiting family in the area. Service received from reception was very good.
“Would recommend for budget break!”
We arrived to the hotel on the Thursday before easter and we were greeted by about two hundred spanish visitors, waiting to check in. We waited and waited and after two hours, I decided to push in as we had our four year old with us. We were told to get drink from the bar, but I insisted that we get a key to our room. After a little while longer I was given a key but could not be shown to the room as the receptionist said they were too busy. We had booked a double room and when entering the room there were two single beds and no bed for a child. We were told we could not change rooms until the next day. We were in room 171 and it was cold and you could hear everything outside! We changed to room 1214 and this room was much better, still single beds but warm and clean. The food at the hotel was not good. So prepare to spend money out. The entertainment was good however and is worth paying all inclusive just for the drinks.
“San Pedro - ok”
The hotel is on the edge of the village and the beach area is being reconstructed which made it look tatty. In front of the hotel is major roadworks, it wasn't noisy but made it difficult to get in & out. Reception staff were friendly but restaurant staff did not engage in any conversation. Room pretty basis and not much storage but it was clean and we did have air conditioning
“Go elsewhere if you can afford it.”
In summary: cheap and clean but very basic, busy and noisy. This is a budget hotel which, although only adequately maintained is clean and functional. We stayed at the end of September. It was very cheap but there was VERY loud music until midnight from around the pool and from local bars. After midnight, the music stopped, leaving the rowdy drinkers by the pool to (eventually) empty their glasses. The noisy local bars lasted rather longer, unfortunately. It was cheap but in the rooms, there were, for example, loose floor tiles and peeling paint in the bath (yes, really). It was all rather shabby. No room phones or any other frills but did I mention that it is cheap? Personally, I'd rather pay a little more for something a little quieter and in better condition.
“NOT IMPRESSED”
Single rooms requested one room was dark small and depressing Rooms have no air con or fans very very hot. Requested room change at 1.30.a.m. very tired shown three more unsuitable rooms one of the rooms the door wouldn't close got stuck half way across another on the main road which was so busy and noisy another one no balcony eventually one room seemed suitable and was accepted but on the following evening music was belching out from the loud speakers and you could not hear yourself speak and this usually went on till 12 night but the noise continues until at least 1 to 1.30.a.m if you are situated around the pool area. Around room No 56 Pool area there is a small of sewarae although people were asking for room changes reception still allocated these rooms to new arrivals knowing full well there was a problem Food always hot and no complaints Road works being carried out in front of the hotel. This is a major road carrying a lot of traffic day and night very noisy. Very spanish and pretty hotel with lots of plants which we were told was being renovated in October this year if the hotel is not busy. Be warned.
