One night in Mijas
Overall the hotel was lovely. Great staff. Buffet lunch started at 1:30, we arrived at 2:30 and a lot of the food looked old and dry. The room was spacious with lots of storage, but it was rather dark. The bed was reasonably comfortable and had extra pillows. We had two issues with the room. One was that the bed was on wheels that did not lock. So, if one tried to sit up in bed, for example to watch tv or read, and leaned against the headboard, the bed would roll away from the wall, causing pillows and person to get stuck in the gap. The other issue was an enormous amount of mosquitoes in the room at night. We had to sleep with the sheets over our heads because they were buzzing and biting incessantly. The staff acknowledged that there are lot of mosquitoes and said there was nothing they could do as we are in the countryside. Otherwise, the room, bathroom, shower were very nice. The grounds were lovely and well maintained. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. The public areas of the hotel were very clean and well maintained. Despite the minor issues, would certainly recommend this hotel for future stay, but would bring mosquito repellent.

You have to pay €12.50 to use the safe in your room....decor in room is bare and a bit dated. Lighting is terrible, just bedside table lights and one uplight in corner, no overhead lights. Could not figure out Aircon so we were freezing. Shower sprays everywhere as glass on side of shower was far too short and water temperature inconsistent. Staff were lovely and friendly. Food was good, not much variety and plates were not clean, had to keep hunting for ones without encrusted food on it. Pool looked beautiful but didn't try it as out of season. Scenery was stunning and short convenient drive to shopping centre and main motorway. Really friendly staff at the restaurant and bar

October mini break.
Spent 3 nights at Ilunion Hacienda de Mijas, the room was lovely, very spacious with a great bathroom and shower. Beautiful public rooms and the gardens and pool were really well kept. Very good value for money, would definitely stay there again.

Like the hotel, I don’t think it’s a holiday hotel more business trip or stop over. The reception areas and pool areas lovely. Reception staff are really helpful, the bar staff not so helpful there service is poor, there aren’t enough staff, they don’t acknowledge what you are doing, just carry on in their own little world, then 10 mins later decide to serve you…also they don’t seem very knowledgeable on how to serve gin or drinks they keep using the wrong glasses. Gin was put in a normal straight pint beer glass it should be in a bowl. Iv had good twice from the bar, possibly the worst food Iv ever had, burger frozen tasteless, ham/cheese toastie disgusting soggy and tasteless . Food I’d give zero. Room lovely but no balcony . Hotel in a lovely area, nice gardens and clean. Spa - massage poor and proper time wasn’t given, asked for certain things and ignored .

Our room and the facilities around the pool were clean; Comfortable bed, efficient air con, fridge. An evening meal in the cafeteria was not so great: the waiter either forgot to put in our full order or collect when it was ready. As a result our order (hamburger & chips) arrived cold and inedible. We were eventually given one freshly cooked meal with hot chips and told there was no more because the kitchen was closed (10pm) ......so we ended up sharing the meal between the 2 of us. The waiter did apologise and offered us a drink on the house, but sadly we were still hungry and as a result decided not to try and eat in the hotel again.

Womderful
My boyfriend and I had a rental car and this hotel was the perfect choice. We planned to stay here only for 2 nights but we finally stayed for 4 nights. It is located near mijas town so we had a beautiful view day and night. Staffs, especially Sergio, are kind and informative. I will recommend to my friends to stay here when they go to malaga.

We were given 2 twin beds and after asking to change the beds to double, reception said all their beds are single. We’re all for eco friendly but they’ve gone too far by not providing soap by the sink! No tissue, only toiletry is shower gel… and four star? Maybe 2

Magnifico Hotel Ilunion Mijas
Perfect location midway between Mijas Pueblo and Fuengirola with mountain views on one side and seaview on the other. Large pool with plenty of grassed sunbathing areas with pool towels thrown in too so no need to pack beach towels! Disabled friendly with ramps all around and a hoist to aid entry and exit to the pool. There are bus stops just outside the hotel making it easy to get to both towns with an hourly service and just €1.55. Already thinking about returning next year.

Friendly and pleasing stay.
This hotel is smaller than others in the area and felt really friendly. Although the service and the rooms were hampered by the covid pandemic, I had no real complaints. It would be good for the rooms to have a coffee and tea facility and also the safe in the room needed to be "booked" with a separate company which seemed bizarre. Above all, the staff did everything to help make the stay comfortable.

The front desk staff were brusque and did not give us any information about amenities until prompted. The floor was dirty, you could see dirt and dust visibly. The beds were old and super uncomfortable ..: you could feel the springs. There were no outlets near the bed at all. There Were handles pulling out of the walls in the bathroom. It was definitely in need of an update. The air conditioning barely worked… at night it was so hot! It started to get cooler in the morning and we changed no settings. Definitely did not get a good night sleep. The gym actually seemed to have received an update recently and my husband enjoyed using the facilities. We did not eat there but the options looked subpar, much better to make the short drive up to Mijas Pueblo to eat. We were happy about the on site parking.

The only thing is good the staff every thing else was very bad The room was not clean, the beds are not comfortable, breakfast was very limited But the staff was very helpfully

A tired-looking hotel
The outside of the hotel, pool area and grounds were beautiful but the rooms were a bit shabby and could do with updating although they were clean. Not soundproofed at all, terrible night's sleep due to incredibly loud barking dog behind hotel, even earplugs couldn't drown it out and in the morning we could hear other guests and cleaners. We ordered breakfast a la carte, 15 EUR for two coffees and a couple of pieces of toast with jam - was quite shocked. I was glad we only stayed one night.

Rosario @ front desk very helpful. I was here 5 days ago and like this propetty vs airpport hotel. It is 12 miles from Malaga ap. I was disappointef that only 2 channels on tv are in English and in room safes do not function.

Employees very friendly and helpful. Cintia at from desk very customer friendly. Goes out of her way for guest! Grounds excellent with great views up and down mountain. Food offers are good, breakfast and lunch buffets!
