“Excellent for off season stay.”
Large rooms, comfortable furniture, great balconies, so-so kitchen. Could easily stay for a month
“2nd time - still brill”
This was our second visit to the hotel, both occasions for wedding anniversaries. Very pleased with the hotel, staff & service but some of the hotel side facilities, i.e. meals & bar not open at lunch times this time. Very good regular bus service to both Farengarola & Malaga for only 1Euro 30. Good size rooms and a reasonably sized kitchen with more than adequate equipment. We love the place and will be back.
“Not Impressed”
The best part of the hotel was the staff. All of whom were extremely polite and helpful with any information or directions we needed. But unfortunately the rest of the hotel did not live up to expectations, the room we were in was plenty big enough and certainly couldn't fault the size at all, but it was very tired looking and could do with updating (again not really a problem). The real problem was the fact that the whole place echoed like no tomorrow, so when we were trying to sleep and people came home late/early hours of the morning and then decided to start moving the furniture over tiled floors the noise was horrendous, and nobody seemed to know how to close a door it always had to be slammed. Also there should have been a small supermarket within the hotel and that is no longer there. The hotel is also out of the way of anything so a car is a must.
“Would visit again”
A lovely aparthotel in a good location away from the main bustle, but near enough to local bars and restaurants. Really like the area and would definately go back again. Very reasonable rates for a 1 bedroomed apartment too.
“''Very good value for money''”
Last minute holiday booked 1 week before we left....Just returned from a 7 night stay in the Flatotel apartments with our 2 teenage daughters..... stayed in a 2 bed, 2 bathroomed apart on the 9th floor. Impressive views from here, partially to the side but overlooking sea, road and adjacent golf course. Our daughters liked the spacious bedroom and were especially pleased to have their own bathroom. We all felt the decor was dated, new curtains, bed covers and a new sofa would make a big difference but the extra space was great . The pool was smaller than expected and sunbeds very basic but we were out most days visiting friends locally so only used pool twice. Local bus was good, bus stop outside by the roundabout. The 110 ran into Benalmadena every 5-10 mins and the 120 ran into Fuengirola - well worth the visit. Hired a car for the last 3 days, a must if you have younger children as it is a long, hot walk into town ! Saff were helpful and an engineer came quickly when we had a problem with the air conditioning. We ate out with friends most days but had breakfast in our apartment with supplies from supermarket on site and up the road towards Benalmadena. All in all, for a last minute deal we felt this was good value for what we had paid.
“mixed emotions”
The apartments were fine, no complaints inside the rooms, very nice accomodation - if I'm being picky the pool was quite small for the size of the building and number of occupants, but OK The main complaint is the 5 o'clock check-in?? We travel quite a lot but I have never heard of a check in so late I am disappointed with Expedia in suggesting an early morning flight which enabled us to arrive at the destination around midday/early afetrnoon, knowing that we wouldn't be able to check in until so late. We had a child with us on this occasion and the staff acknowledged this and did get the room ready quicker, but we still had to wait two hours witha two year old. We could have taken a later flight as these were available, but we were only going for 4 nights so wanted to be there early. We wish that Expedia had made it clear that this later flight would be more suitable, given the check in time. The only other grouse is that the building was not close to anything and although the bus stop is right outside, it becomes a bit like a cattle market when the bus driver keeps letting people on when the bus is quite clearly full. Taxis are the better option, but the write-up suggests that amenities are much closer than they actually are
“Would definitely go back!”
Lovely hotel in a lovely part of Spain, would most definitely go back again. The hotel was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful and all spoke English. The room was cleaned almost everyday with fresh towels each time. Check in wasn't supposed to be until 5 but we could check in straight away at around 2. The pool opens at 11 and there were always free sun beds and very clean. About 15 mins walk from a few restaurants and supermarket (although there is a small supermarket in the hotel). There is a bus stop right outside the hotel which goes to the Marina for a couple of euros each, and there are lots of restaurants and bars there.
“Would we go back. Yes but not impressed with the dogs.”
On arrival we were disappointed to find that the hotel was being renovated, there was no dining room or bar facilities. Also we had to upgrade because the room allocated to us did not match the description as stated in the hotel brochure on line. The upgrade cost 72 euros. Over all with the location of the Hotel, the standard of service from the reception and the upgraded room our visit was very enjoyable and the weather was almost perfect for the time of year. There was one or two maintenance problems which the hotel did try to correct. One worrying thing we did object to, was the presence of dogs being allowed into the hotel rooms. This is our 3rd visit to the hotel and it is the first time we have seen dogs being allowed into the hotel. Overall though we did think it was value for money and we achieved what we set out to do, have total relaxation!!
“Lovely 7 days”
My mum and I spent 7 days in Flatotel in September 2010 and we were pleased with this hotel. Hotel was everything that was promissed in the description, very comfortable and clean with beautiful seaview. The only disadvantage of the hotel was its location, it is a bit far from the main beach and town centre. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel and the bus to the beach / centre / Malaga goes quite often. Staff in the hotel was friendly and helpful and I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
“happily impressed, return asap”
to us it was by far this best facility within benalmedina
