“Another excellent week in Calahonda”
Having been to the Crown Resorts before we were hoping for a great place. We stayed previously at the Club Marbella and this time we were allocated a fabulous room at the Club Calahonda. We had a superb 2 bedroom apartment that overlooked the pool at one side and the hills and the sea from the other. It was clean and well equipt and the resort was well organised and managed. Unfortunately on the last day my husband became quiet poorly through no fault of the resort but their swift action, concern and consideration was commendable. They were fantastic and supportive and looked after myself and my family exceptionally well. Calahonda is a reasonably small resort which is pleasant and relaxing but Crown Resorts provide free bus services to other areas. We hired a car as always and visited the excellent beach at Cabapino and went up to Mijas, Fuengirola and Benalmadena. We also visited Porto Banus and Marbella. So it is a great location for seeing the area. In the past we have even driven to Gibralta for the day. Overall a fantastic holiday
“Would definitely go back!”
The Crown Resorts are made up of 5 hotels near to eachother, however, the first one we were placed in was the Caronte and was not impressed at all. It is the more basic of the five, location was awful at the top of a big hill with no shops, bars etc nearby. We asked to be moved and ended up in the Marbella hotel which was truly fantastic, everything to hand, indoor pool, outdoor pool, squash, mini golf, internet, nice rooms and within walking distance to good restaurants and shops. Would definitely recommend this hotel but only if you end up in the Marbella or Delta Mar. Check before departing which one you are in. Would definitely go back again next year. We were a family of five, two adults, three teenagers who thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
“We'll be back”
Check-in somewhat confusing...had to visit two other sites before getting to ours....would have been trouble if we had not had a car or had arrived overnight. Facilities lovely but you need a car to get from site to site if you are at one that has few facilities (all have pools). Rooms spacious and clean with great views. Great kitchen. Very child friendly...ours are 3, 9 and 12 and were all well catered for. Parking was a little difficult but not really a major problem, only a small inconvenience at times.
“Good Family Break”
I stayed at the Crown Resort Club Calahonda, it was a perfect break for me and my family. The apartment we stayed at was clean and well maintained. It had everything that we would need for our week long break. We stayed on one of the ground floor apartments as my five year old son is disabled, I sent the resort a email before hand explaining his condition and they accomadated us the best they could. We had easy access to the pool and also near to the exit and entrance of the resort. The staff were very friendly and polite and spoke english. The only gripe I would have is that the minibus service provided by the resort does not accomadate wheelchairs or buggy's so we could not use that service. The surrounding area around the resort was quite and you had a few shops but again it was difficult to get around because there were quite a few steep hills. But after the first couple of days we got use to it. The taxi service is quite steep but we had budgetted for it given our situation. There is a beach near by maybe a 100m away from the resort its nice and quite there with a small restaurant. The larger beaches are further away but again are about 30mins away in a car. All in all we had a lovely time both my children enjoyed it and we may even go back sometime in the future.
“Great Location!”
I am very impressed with the quality of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff. I definitely recommend this hotel.
“marie”
A very nice and comfortable apartment. the only thing have to say is that the pool is far to small for the size of the apartments also could never get a lounger.
“bon rapport qualite prix”
hotel club tres agreable avec des chambres agerables et une piscine interieure chauffee agreable
