“Good value for money”
Clean, tidy, comfortable with helpful staff. Lovely buffet style breakfast. The pool area is lovely and good for younger children, ours are 3 and 1 and had a ball in the water. I would definitely recommend it. Location wise, you would need a car to get the best of the area.
“Not Impressed”
We moved out of our first room during the first day. The room was dated, and had an AWFUL odor. The toilet would not flush and there was water damage in the ceiling of the bathroom. I probably could have handled everything except the odor. The second room was okay. We were pleased because we had a view of the pool. However, the air conditioner did not work. The room was extremely hot, especially during the night, and we were there for two nights. We did requet that the maintenance staff repair the AC, but that never happened. We were also disappointed because at 11:00am sharp, the breakfast buffet was removed. I am not accustomed to this type of service. I thought that it was in poor taste to remove food from customers who were still eating. For the money that we paid, I would not recommend this hotel.
“Not a hotel for tourists”
The hotel is beautiful. The buffet breakfast is lovely. It ends there. If you do not have a car, the location is useless - it is a longish drive to Peurto Banus or the centre of Marbella. I found the hotel staff to be surly and unpleasant and unhelpful. It is a hotel mainly used by Spanish families and our entire stay was ruined by broods of screaming children at all hours. I would not recommend this hotel.
“perfect deal”
the location is very nice if u have a car, and in there every thing is fantastic, view, food, room, bath, services
“Superb!, Simply Superb!!!”
Puerto Bunus!,.....who needs it? This hotel is in a fantastic location and close to the beautiful town of San Pedro. Look no further, this is all the hotel you ever needed.
“Excellent but car needed”
Hotel was excellent and staff very helpful. Spacious pool area and lovely gardens. However, car is required as the hotel is a few kms outside San Pedro.
“Recommend, - but there's nothing in the immediate area except the golf course”
You get what you pay for. This hotel was within our budget, and represented value for money with a clean comfortable room and friendly service in a tranquil environment. The breakfast buffet is excellent. The golf is over-rated and expensive. It is a 15 minute uphill walk to catch a local bus to Puerto Banus or Marbella. San Pedro is the nearest town, (where you catch the bus), and there are some good restaurants there, (Alfredo's is great food and value). Beach is 2 or 3 KM's away, and inaccessable without a car. “We would go to that hotel again”
The reception staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant staff were also friendly and helpful. The bar snack menu was a little expensive but we got a special rate for the buffet meal each evening and really enjoyed the food. The pool area was clean and well kept, plenty of sunbeds and parasols for shade but the music that was played around the pool area (on a loop) got on my nerves, but at least it wasn't overly loud.
“Parking”
This hotel are parking not included .
“Just back from our third stay!”
We are just back from our third stay at the Barcelo Marbella. Rooms are clean and comfortable, and bathrooms have great showers. We stayed on a B&B basis, and the breakfasts are superb, great choice and very tasty. For us the location is great as we like to dine in nearby Puerto Banus at night. The pool area is very pleasant for lazy days with a good book!
