“Ok hotel suitable for families.”
The hotel is in a good location, nearby the beach, supermarket and the Don Carlos and Mariott hotel are also next door. As a 4 star hotel you get what you pay for. The room is clean and tidy, and provides the very basic of what you expect. The hotel is old style and needing renovations. The hotel restaurant is very tired and dated, and not very appealing. The food was average. The pool is good, but the sun chairs are old and need to be replaced. The most annoying thing was the apartment doors would slam loudly whenever someone left their apartment, this was very disruptive especially in the evenings. The evening entertainment on Saturday evening can be heard from the apartment, which was not very family friendly and our baby would be sleeping from 7pm. Overall the hotel was good, given the reasonable price and location.
“Very Nice”
If you're looking for a family oriented hotel, this is it. Even though was high season, we found the pools very clean and no problem finding a lounge. The restaurant is the highlight, the waiters went beyond every time. Our plan included Continental breakfast, but they allow us to choose the English breakfast (eggs included) at no extra charge. We had dinner almost every night at the hotel because the food was good, very reasonable priced (compared to the over-priced places in Marbella downtown) and included a different show every night! The beach is less than 10 min. walk. Secure parking. We would definitely go back!
“very satisfied”
This is the second time we have stayed at The Alanda and it was better than the first time. We requested a room at high level with sun - our visit was at the end of February - and this was supplied. The whole apartment was clean, quiet and comfortable and was very suited to our requirements. The Alanda facilities are very good and the bar area is a convenient rendezvous. The hotel location is very good with easy access to local shops, restaurants, golf courses, beaches etc. and also easy road access for travelling around the Costa del Sol. With friends living in the Elvira area we shall stay there again.
“Really Good Value and Clean”
Although named as a hotel this is a series of buildings made up of apartments. Mine was one bedroom and I was only there for two nights. There was a sitting area and a kitchen area and a separate bedroom and bathroom. The sofa in the sitting room was not very comfortable and if you were going to cook and eat in, there was no dining table. The kitchen area was clean and well equipped with microwave, hob, dishwasher etc. There were flat screen TV’s in the sitting area and the bedroom receiving many English TV channels including BBC 1. The apartment was very clean throughout. The bed linen was a little ‘thin’ but nothing to worry about. I don’t know what the housekeeping arrangements are. My bed was not made when I got back to the room on my second day. The complex has swimming pools, garden area, restaurant & bar, all well maintained and clean. There is plenty of free parking round the back with an electric gate opened by the room card. The staff were polite and helpful. I would definitely stay there again. It is only a few Euro more than the Artola Golf down the road and is much better quality and value – despite the need to check on housekeeping for a longer stay. The location is far enough away from the noise of the N340. Opposite is a small bar, small supermarket and a pretty good restaurant. There is a very nice beach about a three minute walk away, and across the N340 there are quite a lot of restaurants, bars and a couple of large supermarkets.
“Nice Place”
It quiet so if you want alot to do dont go there but it was good for us nice break 1 week is enough 2 would be too long
“Just what we wanted”
Apart from the late availability of the apartment all was expected and met all our rquirements and was typical of a resort hotel. We would certainly use the hotel again. The local was good, good beaches and all the facilities required.
“Cold floors for winter”
Alanda Club Marbella is a great site that I'd like to visit in the summer -- or at least not winter. The major complaints were the cold tile floors and the poor ventilation in the bathroom (with the window closed for warmth.) The toaster blew circuits, but was replaced immediately; the water heater relief valve started talking and was replaced immediately; the in-counter clothes washer was difficult to understand, and didn't work very efficiently; internet was sketchy, at best. However, the heaters were adequate, the bed acceptable (hard), the furniture ugly modern European. Our room had a patio just off the central pool, and a very ingenious locking iron gate system. It was too cold to spend much time on the patio, but it would have been delightful in warmer weather. We didn't eat at the hotel restaurant, but they were very accommodating when we needed some milk. There's a full and cozy bar. Across the street sits one of the finest restaurants we encountered all stay, and just over the roadway there are two shopping areas, with a large grocery store, five or six restaurants, a convenience store, hardware store, and knick-knack shops. Walk the other way three blocks worth, and you're at the Mediterranean with a lovely beach-side restaurant for anything from breakfast to dinner.
“great stay”
We were very happy with the Alanda Club, close enough to everything yet out of the way enough to feel like we were on vacation, which we were,. The staff are all bi-lingual and very friendly and professional and willing to help in any way. Also there are a great many restaurants and a market within walking distance as is a nice little beach. One more thing, there is a GREAT restaurant across the street from the club The Restaurant Elviria, do not miss it.
“Marbella's finest...definitely recommending it!”
The hotel is a short distance from Malaga airport by car. Upon arrival we were greeted by the hotel's staff who were very accomodating. They showed us our villa where our family stayed for 4 days. We were given a 2 bedroom villa by the beach which is a plus. The villa is very clean and complete with all the facilities that we needed during our stay i.e. microwave, coffee maker, plates, utensils, fridge and oven. Hence we were able to make home cooked meals on some days. It is also adjacent to several restaurants and big supermarkets. Also, the villa is very cozy and relaxing. I am definitely recommending this hotel and will book this again when our family comes back to Marbella.
“Would go back. Excellent hotel.”
This was our second stay and my wife's third stay at this hotel. It is spotlessley clean and from the minute you arrive the staff are very helpful. The pool complex is lovely albeit the pool a little chilly. There is an indoor pool (heated) sauna and v small jacuzzi. The gym is functional and worth a visit and there are two snooker tables, small games room and squash court. Due to it being low season the hotel was not busy. The hotel is located about 40m minutes drive from airport at Malaga and getting there is very easy. All the way on the A7. Don't use the toll road (AP7 I think) as the normal roads are very good and not too busy. The area around the hotel has several nice if not a little expensive restaurants and there are 3 supermarkets within short walking distance. Beach 5 minute walk away. Our flight home was cancelled due to ash cloud, Alanda were very helpful and we returned there for the two additional nights we were stranded. During this (slightly stressful) time the reception staff were excellent and assisted us with efforts to get home. We were both very grateful for this. Will return to Alanda. Visit to Nerja recommended. Much cheaper and nice coastal resort. Gibraltar not so great and sadly little corner of UK in Spain was fairly grotty and rundown.
