Enjoyed an overnight stay at this old, classic and historic hotel. Easy, fast check in and very pleasant staff.
Room was clean and while small, just fine for what we needed. Quiet room.
When inquiring about check out time - offered an extra hour is needed - at no charge or hassle. Noon was plenty of time to go out for breakfast and return.
Came for a weekend with a friend. We are mid 40's. As the reviews said, place turns into a nightclub at night but we were aware ahead of time and had no issues with this. Rooms were clean. Free refridgerator in room and free WiFi.
Overall our stay was good. The sofa bed didn't have extra pillows so that was a little uncomfortable. The service was very good and I really liked how guest services would text me during my stay to see everything was going.
From the moment we walked in, the hotel staff was friendly, greeting everyone with Bonjour! The room was clean, had a view of part of downtown Chicago, and we felt we were in a four star hotel (which is what we bid for). The Hotel is exactly where they said it was: Water Tower district of Chicago. This was important to us because we were there to look at Loyola Chicago's Water Tower Campus, and it was only a three minute walk. We were also a two to three minute walk to the subway and getting around was very easy. They offered umbrellas every time it rained, were helpful with getting cabs, and each afternoon after a busy day in the city, we were excited about heading back to the Sofitel to relax and regroup. The food at the Sofitel is amazing, from the complimentary croissant and strong coffee they offer every morning for early birds, to the lunch and dinner in their dining room. Their lobby is inviting; they have several areas in the lobby for guest to interact outside of the room, and the staff serving drinks downstairs is friendly.
What else can I say? We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return soon to The Sofitel!
Great hotel in the middle of downtown Chicago. Close to all main attractions and did I mention a great bar, Broken Shaker, inside the hotel? Being that I'm from Miami Beach and have been to the Freehand Miami before, this made me feel at home. Would come back again soon! Clean rooms, large LED tv, HD channels, internet and great view of the John Hancock. Ask for room 603 :)
