Great location!!!! But not on my he weekend!!

Posted 02-Mar-2015
Great location!! Friendly staff, exceptional buffet breakfast and great value for money hotel in a perfect location for a midweek break but on a Friday and Saturday night you'll be kept up all night by bar opposite hotel and noisy teenagers in the skate park 30metres from hotel entrance. Such a shame it spoilt our last couple of days!!

This is not a 4 star hotel, but OK I guess

Posted 25-Feb-2015
Pros: Proximity to palace and other cool spots.
Cons: Staff with some English would be nice for those of us trotting out high school Spanish after man yeas :) Did not get clear directions to the hotel.
Location: Palace around the corner.
This hotel is about to be closed for remodeling and it really needs it. Things were worn and out of style, desperately in need of refreshing, so I understand why a remodel is planned, I am sure it will be better afterward. The staff was pleasant enough, but do not ask for any type of shuttle service. We asked for it twice, never scheduled and then finally just told "take a taxi" (!!). Also, practice your Spanish as they do not understand English well, fair enough though, it is their country after all. :) Anyway, I would say the hotel was meh.

Good hotel

Posted 24-Feb-2015
Very comfortable hotel. Only thing I did not like was I booked a double bed and they gave me two single beds. Other than that all good. Value for money and close to city centre.

Excellence in Madrid

Posted 22-Feb-2015
Pros: See above.
Cons: Breakfasts in all hotels of this kind are too expensive, and a simpler, cheaper alternative would be useful.
Location: Too much to write about in a limited space. Easy walking to the Palacido Real and its gardens, 5 minutes to the opera house and Opera Metro station..
The hotel is an old Palacido dating from the middle of the 19th century, wonderfully, conveniently located close to the opera house and the Palacido Real. It is excellently located for much of what one wants to see in central Madrid, either by Metro or walking. The hotel itself was well converted, has large comfortable rooms, comfortable beds and our room, facing onto the back garden, was perfectly quiet. Staff were friendly and welcoming and always quick to help.

Angenehmes Hotel in zentraler Lage

Posted 18-Feb-2015
Pros: Nettes Zimmer, kurze Wege

Posted 18-Feb-2015
Pros: Sauberkeit, sehr freundliches Personal, Frühstück, zentrale Lage

Good central choice

Posted 16-Feb-2015
Pros: Location, room size, free wi-fi
Cons: Bathroom suite, carpets in hallways, tea and coffee making facilities, poor choice of English TV channels
Location: Very central
We stayed at this hotel for three nights in February. Check in was quick and efficient and the room was large with two single beds pushed together. The staff on reception were OK - the maids were however very cheerful and friendly and the rooms were cleaned to a very high standard. Free internet which was good. The location is great and within walking distance of many of the local attractions; the Royal Palace, Plaza Mayor and a host of shops and restaurants. It's literally a few minutes walk from Santo Domingo Metro. We took the metro from the airport and found it very easy to navigate. It cost 5 euros each - bargain ! The only negatives - we would have liked tea and coffee making facilities in the room, the TV channels are mostly in Spanish apart from a couple of news channels in English. The bathroom and some of the carpets are in serious need of an update. We had breakfast one morning, a good spread but I think over priced at 15 euros each. Would recommend the hotel if you can get it at a reasonable price.
