Very happy with this hotel. The location was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful. They have a really good buffet which they discounted for us.

Lovely hotel within walking distance of so much!

Posted 09-Jun-2014
Pros: Location, Service & Staff
Cons: Double Beds not two singles pushed together!
Location: Location was right next to the Royal Palace with everything on walking distance. Temple De Bod and the Teleferico were very close by as well
Overall the hotel was excellent - Only issues were that the bathroom floor hadn't been cleaned properly on arrival and we booked a Double Room but had 2 single beds pushed together instead. Other than this it was excellent and very well located in the City with minimal noise outside even with the balcony doors open.

Fantastic place to stay in Madrid

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel during the Easter holiday. The rooms are spacious and the breakfast is fantastic! It is easy to get to all the main tourist attractions by foot from the TRYP.

EQUIDISTANT TO MANY ATTRACTIONS

Posted 05-May-2014
Pros: Location, location.
Cons: The Tryp Hotel chain should invest in refurbishing soonest. Management is allowing a beautiful hotel to be in need of minimum investment badly.
Location: Within walking distance to all attractions and museums.Tapas at reasonable prices, behind Ayuntamiento at Puerta d. Sol. Avoid around Plaza Mayor
The room we had reserved was not ready after midday, they substituted it for a "premium room" at an additional price. After a long and tiring flight, we accepted the change. The room was kept clean. The hotel shows faded glory from its heydays, which is par for the course for other Tryp hotels in Madrid. Worn out carpets throughout the hotel, that should have been replaced long ago. We were left without hot water in our room for two days. We complained harshly and it was fixed withing a couple of hours. Breakfast buffet was well provided. Reception Desk was friendly. We travel to Spain often, staying in Madrid at least four days every time. It is time we make reservations at another four star hotel.

Great hotel & great staff

Posted 29-Apr-2014
Pros: Everything!
This is a fantastic hotel - ignore the threadbare carpet on the stairs and enjoy the hospitality, location and fantastic breakfasts. When we arrived we were asked if we wanted to upgrade to a superior room - extra 15 Euros per day - which we accepted. This gave us a much larger room, tea/coffee making facilities, bath robes, etc. and was well worth the extra cost. From the hotel it is an easy walk to the Palace, the Opera, hop on/hop off bus stop and shopping areas. Also, there is a great bar located directly opposite the hotel entrance - elMiniBar - make sure you experience the best gin & tonic in Madrid! Highly recommended.

Great hotel, perfect location.

Posted 20-Apr-2014
Pros: Location
Cons: The fitness facilities that we're round the corner of the hotel and you had to pay :(
Location: Perfect location, the royal palace is a 7 minute walk.
Me and my partner stayed here for 4 nights and had a really pleasant experience. Situated in the heart of madrid I would highly recommend this hotel.

Great hotel with central location.

Booked on the basis of earlier reviews both Expedia and TripAdvisor. Excellent location with 10 minutes walk of the Royal Palace. Room was comfortable and clean. We opted for the buffet breakfast: fantastic selection and beautifully presented. Would recommend!
