Great hotel, perfect location.

Pros: Location
Cons: The fitness facilities that we're round the corner of the hotel and you had to pay :(
Location: Perfect location, the royal palace is a 7 minute walk.
Me and my partner stayed here for 4 nights and had a really pleasant experience. Situated in the heart of madrid I would highly recommend this hotel.

Booked on the basis of earlier reviews both Expedia and TripAdvisor. Excellent location with 10 minutes walk of the Royal Palace. Room was comfortable and clean. We opted for the buffet breakfast: fantastic selection and beautifully presented. Would recommend!

Fantastic location and great staff/price.

Pros: beds, size, staff and location.
Cons: Our sink stopper did not stay open. We didn't really care, just propped it open. Wonderful stay. Rm 345
Location: Perfect location by the Opera Metro stop. We walked to Montero for dinner, great tapas and sangria. The Palacio Real was literally right behind us.
We had a short stay in Madrid, 2 nights. My 19 yr old daughter and I were there for spring break. We loved the location of Tryp- it was perfect. The grand palace was right behind the hotel. Metro and bus stop were close too, either at top or bottom of the street. Staff was so nice and helpful, we got an early check in of 10am!! Which was awesome after the overnight flt from the us US. The hotel was very safe and attractive. WE loved the beds, twin, crisp clean sheets and nice pillows and spreads. The size of the room was smaller than some of the pics but bigger than expected for Europe and for the price. The room was very quiet and comfortable. Bathroom was clean and they provided all the free amenities,ex: soap, toothbrush, razor, etc. I recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place in Madrid.

Perfect Location

Posted 18-Feb-2014
Pros: The rooms were spacious, well equipped and spotless. The buffet breakfast was one of the best we had experienced. The lounge was most comfortable and
Cons: To be very honest, for once we can't come up with anything - and the five women on the trip can be quite "picky"!
Location: Within easy walking distance of the best of the city: Sol, Grand Via, Opera House, Royal Palace . .
A ladies' long weekend was made perfect due to our stay in this lovely, elegant yet relaxed hotel. The location was super (best location I have been in and have been to Madrid several times) and within walking distance of all the places you would wish to visit. The staff were very friendly and helpful, even opening bottles of wine that we had bought to drink while we had a pre-dinner blether as we had forgotten to pack a corkscrew! We had a lovely experience overall.

Great return visit

Posted 16-Feb-2014
Pros: The breakfast is very good and the room is charming with its high ceilings and french doors with rod iron detailed balcony.
My husband and I visited the Tryp Ambassador 16 years ago on our honeymoon. The hotel is upgraded from carpeting to hardwood floors and the original charm is still intact. The only difference is there is no longer a bell staff. However the price of the hotel is very in expensive considering how nice the hotel is. The Breakfastbin the morning is obe of the best we have ever had with a huge variety and a lovely atmospherebto eat in. You can either sit in the cozy interior partbor out in the solarium which was heated for our February trip. The Tapas restaurant also was nice and relaxing after a day of touring.

City Stay

Posted 13-Feb-2014
Pros: Staff were really helpful & friendly.
Cons: Ceilings in the bathroom
Location: Two streets away from the Royal Palace - great to visit. Short walk to the main shopping street - worth the trip & definitely filling the suitcase.
Arrived early & staff were happy to let us check in early meaning we could drop off luggage & start enjoying Madrid. Receptionist was fantastic, helping us to know where places of interest were, shopping & finding location for purpose of our trip - the Fernando Alonso Exhibition. Bedroom itself was clean & had everything we needed. It was looking tired in places - the ceiling in the bathroom particularly, but given the price of the room I wasn't expecting 5*. Slight negative - our room was immediately adjacent to the lifts (2) which meant there was noise disturbance. I considered asking to move but decided I could live with it. By the end of the stay I didn't hear them anymore - glasses of Rioja had nothing to do with this lol. Breakfast was sumptuous & although we could have probably eaten for less in a cafe, it was convenient & extremely enjoyable. Hotel bar was also good & we were very surprised at how reasonable the prices were & comparable to bars & cafes outside. You'd never find them this reasonable in the UK. All in all a great stay & one I'd recommend.
