“Excellent choice”
This hotel is an excellent choice especially if you want to be able to eat in your room when you fell for it. The room has a good size, is very comfortable and very clean. The only thing I did not like is the lack of a fridge in the kitchen. There is a minibar fridge but it cannot be used as a room fridge for food. Hotel service is very good! Location is great and quiet, close to ''Plaza Espana I recommend!
“Excellent accommodation in central madrid”
Our room on the 5th floor (the top floor) at Suites 33 was brilliant. There was no view, but in its favour the bed room was very large had a huge bed, contained a well equipped kitchenette (microwave, hob, fridge, cupboards - but no cutlery, plates, saucepans etc) and was annexed to a lounge with sofa and tv. The bathroom had a bath, shower, toilet and bidet. The rooms were all exceptionally clean and well kept. We took cups and cutlery to make hot drinks but you could take more with you and cook basic meals. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful providing maps and recommendations and all speak English. There is somewhere to store bags after check out if you need it. The hotel is in between two metro stops each about 3-4 minutes away and it takes about 10 minutes down mainly pedestrian streets to get to the very centre of Madrid. The street itself could be quite loud so probably best to ask for a back room if you get disturbed easiliy. There is a chinese supermarket just next door and there are a number of small convenience stores nearby. This is an exceptional place for the price with all the comfort, space and quality you could ever want for a short stay/week long stay in Madrid.
“Nice hotel”
The hotel is not fancy or anything special in its appearance. However, the staff makes your stay so comfy that it makes it worthwhile. Full kitchen, which we really didn't need but nice to have anyway. The location is right by the Plaza de Espana and Gran Via. Best of all, there is a police station a couple of doors down the street so it is very safe. Walked to Plaza del Sol and Plaza Mayor within 15 min.
“Great Location”
Great location but neighborhood is not clean and smelly. Syaff are very frieldly and pleasant. I will go back again.
“Nice, small hotel”
We stayed here for 2 nights. Room number 17 is the biggest room on the 1st floor, comes with kitchenette and living area as well. The location is good, short walk to Royal Palace, Plaza Mayor or Mercado de San Miguel.
“Madrid hotel - great location for sight seeing.”
We stayed in Suites 33 in a family room for 2 nights in August 2011, very happy to find a hotel that would allow all 4 of our famiy stay together - chidren ages 11 and 13 with us. The location was superb! we were a 2 minute walk from Plaza Espana metro stop, and a 5 minute walk to tons of shopping/restaurants. We asked for a quiet room and it was very quiet. AC could have been a bit cooler consideriing it was 38 degrees outside, but we were comfortable, just slept with a sheet, no blankets. Overall, friendly front desk staff and perfect for sight seeing.
“Nice and convenient location”
This hotel is very centrally located. No need to use a taxi if you are okay with traveling by metro. It's on a street parallel to one of the biggest streets in Madrid (Gran Via), so the street itself is nothing special, but well-located for tourists, in my opinion. Our room was huge and we had a kitchenette area with fridge. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel.
“Pretty Decent Stay”
We stayed four nights at Suites 33. The hotel is in a great location in relation to metro stops. The street itself is a little lack-luster, but surrounding area is good. The staff was very nice and helpful and the room itself was clean. My only complaint was noise. I anticipated street noise at night - it is a big city and people stay out till the early morning hours, but the hotel itself was also noisy. While we lay in bed we heard people banging around the hallways and lobby throughout the night - the door did not remotely stifle sound. We did not specifically request a 'quiet room' as suggested in the other review - we probably should have. Despite this I would still stay there again - the price was excellent as well as the convenience of the location. I would just have brought ear plugs.
“Hidden Gem”
Great staff, good size room, clean, good location-shame about the street, but still felt safe.
“Satisfied”
The room has very good size, the Internet is pretty fast and the location of the hotel is great. The hotel is 2 minutes walking from the Plaza Espana metro stop, so you can move around the city and back very easily. Overall, I recommend the hotel.

Plaza de Espana - Royal Palace, Madrid, Spain: At the western end of the arterial Gran Via, Plaza de España is home to Franco-era architecture like the monstrous red and white Edificio España. The nearby Palacio Real (royal palace) was rebuilt in 1764 and is still used for state functions. It contains some wonderfully ornate rooms and is free on Wednesdays to EU citizens (take your passport). Admire the statues in the lovely Sabatini Gardens afterwards.
