Everything was perfect except the location

Posted 20-Mar-2014
Pros: everything
Cons: nothing
Location: See above. Location is the only downside to this otherwise perfect hotel.
If you want to spend your time in downtown Madrid in close proximity to the main attractions, you might reconsider your stay here. It was a 30-min taxi drive from the hotel to most points in downtown Madrid and at $35USD, that could get pricey. Although it is close to a bus stop that brings you to city center, that took at least an hour each way. If you want to enjoy madrid and not be in the heart of the city, stay here. The staff, the room, the grounds were all absolute perfection!

Disappointing Family Hotel

Posted 03-Nov-2013
Cons: The website should be a little clearer about the restrictions - particularly for visitors with young families
Went to Madrid for a few days as a family. Chose Sheraton specifically for pool and spa facilities - only to be told upon arrival we couldn't use the facilities. Staff quoted policies and restrictions as the reason (which were frankly buried so deep in the website you'd need a degree to find them). Very disappointing. Also the wifi...intermittent at best!

Nice hotel

Posted 06-Aug-2013
Pros: Very nice pool
Location: A long way from city centre but that was OK as the neighbourhood was very nice and bus and Metro were very close
Nice hotel. Very big room/suite. A long way from city centre but that was OK as the neighbourhood was very nice and the bus and Metro werer very near. Maybe beter than staying in the city centre which is very built up and crowded. Lovely pool. Staff all very helpful and friendly.

Sheraton Mardid

Posted 06-Aug-2013
Pros: Big rooms (50 sq metres) and comfortable beds if you are a family of four.
Cons: The FOOD!!! come on Sheraton you can do better...
Location: The location was far out of the City centre, about a 20 minute drive. I believe it is near the business district
The hotel was comfortable and clean, with friendly helpful staff. The food was most disappointing and could be improved on a lot. Even the staff were embarrassed and informed us that the food was not good and had many complaints. The restaurant staff recommended other restaurants near by for us, so we never ate again in the hotel.. The main restaurant in the hotel had only one person eating there when we turned up, that should have been a warning. If you turn right out of the hotel and 5 minutes walk you will find a pleasant Tapas restaurant which was packed with people, also a 5 minute drive to one of the largest shopping centres in Madrid.. lost of good shops and restaurants..

Healthful and relaxing

Posted 01-Aug-2013 on Hotels.com
The property is in a very nice neighborhood 10-15 min. from city center. I love this property because it's peaceful, very well maintained, and has probably the best gym I've seen in a normal hotel. It's worth having to take a short cab ride to the city center for Tapas when you can retreat to the comfort and relaxation of a property like this.

Great hotel in a nice part of Madrid

Posted 22-Jul-2013
Pros: Everything
Cons: The air conditioning works great but was slightly noisy at a couple of nights. We didn't call about this as it didn't really bother us.
Location: Madrid has so much to offer. Don't forget la jaima restaurant down the street! Great food at family local atmosphere
Nice and very large suites. Hotel staff are really friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. Food including room service is very nice (takes less than 20 minutes) for delivery to room. MiraSierra is a beautiful quiet part of Madrid and less than 15 minutes away from the main attractions. Unlike the other 5 stars hotels in Madrid which are all around 250sf, the suites at the Sheraton are about 650sf or more. Very comfortable, clean rooms with beautiful and large bathrooms. We. Have stayed at various hotels in Madrid past few years and the Sheraton by far is the most comfortable one. The hotel grounds including lobbies and pool and spa are all nice. The previous comments about the water pressure and heat are not correct. Perhaps the key was not inserted at the main entry as it controls everything including water.
