“A great find!”
Just a 2 minute walk from both Opera and Callao metro stations on a quiet side street, this is a colourful modern hotel with friendly and helpful staff and a great power shower! In a bit of a maze of side streets but easy enough to find, it is an elegant building with wrought iron balconies. Tiny tiny downsides - no plug for the hairdryer near a mirror, the room lighting is a bit patchy (one downlight and then 4 tablelamps) and the breakfast room is in the basement with no windows (but the cafes within walking distance are cheaper, better and you can hang out with Spanish people!). We will be heading back for a 3rd visit soon!
“Excelent hotel, we highly recomend it”
We stay for five nights at Laura Mate in Madrid. The location it is excelent, you can walk mostly to all the main touristic attractions of Madrid, the service was excelent, all the staff was extremly helpful and kind. The breakfast is also very good.
“lovely hotel”
centraly located you couldnt get any better for location as every where worth seeing was at a walkable distance. The hotel was modern and clean. The staff are helpful and pleasant. The breakfast was attempting, filling and moreishly good. Bread, meat slices, cheese, coffee, cereal, lots of fruits, yogurt, spanish omelettes, crossants and cakes. Cant get a better hotel unless you did a 5 star but why pay more when this one is itself is good enough and worth it.
“Highly recommended”
Very central and convenient for sites and sights. Plenty of breakfast and lunch cafes nearby Friendly reception staff Comfortable room A useful safe in the room Local streets can be noisy during the night at weekends
“Faultless Hotel”
Fantastic Hotel, ideal location with friendly helpful staff, comfortable large rooms, good breakfast (very reasonable price). Absolutely faultless, hopefully we'll be back one day. Nice restaurants and bars nearby as well
“Absolutely brilliant”
Absolutely nothing which I could criticise, amazingly helpful staff, beautifully clean, trendy and comfortable. The upgrade didn't hurt either, very impressed!
“room mate laura”
room mate laura was everything i expected after reading other reviews location, style, staff and not to forget the breakfast( 6 euros) were all fantastic. as for madrid it was just the best! i just hope its not to long before im back and sampling the tapas at the mercado de san miguel .
“Completely lives us to great reviews for great accommodation at a bargain price!”
Totally lives up to all the great reviews. Brilliant value, great location and cute decor!
“Despite the volcano, this was a brilliant trip!”
When the volcanic ash made all travel tricky, the staff couldn't have been kinder. We got another room immediately (fantastic suite) and they helped us to do research and to print anything crucial. The rooms and hotel itself are such fun and really stylish. The location is brilliant. We would love to visit again.
“Urban Chic, Great Location”
A featureless entrance door and virtually no lobby greet the newcomer to Hotel Mate Laura, and a single receptionist behind security glass does not exactly communicate warmth and welcome. Nevertheless, the receptionist was helpful, the breakfast adequate and the location excellent. The two-story loft style room was interesting, but not very efficient if you are carrying luggage or have trouble climbing stairs.
