“Just perfect”
We were 3 gay males looking to spend a weekend in Madrid. We had a room for us 3; the room was nice and modern; the location excellent next to Chueca and very close to Sol; metro stop 3 minutes away, as well as restaurants, etc. Service was good, always with a smile. We could not ask for more.
“gloomy room”
although the hotel is in a reasonable location for sightseeing . the hotel its self is not very comfortable and the rooms are very gloomy and dark. it is very noisy ebecause of thr location(all night). some general maintenance neds attending to in general. a very basic hotel. the breakfast was okay but not worth the money. the towels and bedding were nice and clean!! the bathroom is very much not private as it is separated by frosted glass panels and glass door(which did not close properly).again the bathroom was dark and gloomy. the internet did not work and we could not get satellite channels on thr TV.BUT the reception staff were friendly however we would not stay in this hotel again, it is more siutable for single business people.
“You may take this option”
The hotel has a great location. The service is nice, but the room was very small and you can hear everything from the other rooms, even the water flush. The breakfast buffet is very limited.
“Due to its central location - hotel is expensive compared to hotels of same standard”
I am regular visitor to Madrid and i have been to many central hotels...This is the second Petit Palace i have stayed in Madrid .... They are very average with little or no facilities in the room... The computers in room are ok but what is more important is good wifi set up..... Room on the 6th floor had bad wifi connection... .The bathroom amenties are a very poor standard and need to improved .... also with no mini bar - a bottle of water should be left when servicing the room.... Madrid has so much choice i am so surprised this hotels offers so little other than location -This hotel had english TV Channels the other Madrid Petit Palace did not .. Nor did Petit Palace in BCN.... Shop around you will get much better value... GP
“Great Location”
Great location, friendly staff, clean and big bathrooms.
“Will go back”
Arrived late on a Saturday to find a double bed room rather than the twin that we had ordered. They moved us the next day. The hotel is in a great central location, the rooms are clean and fairly comfortable, the beds are great. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. The room was equipped with a PC which was handy and I was able to use my own laptop on wifi access. (No kettle/tea/coffee) Oh we do love a cuppa in the morning!
“Good and Bad”
We chose this hotel because of the location to Chueca and the Gran Via. The hotel is in an excellent location. The room was very small and since we smoke - we were located on the 2nd Floor (or 1st floor in Europe). We wanted to open the window and there was no handle...we were told that they had been removed from that floor - later on to find it and the room was much better once we were able to open the window. The bed was not very comfortable and the shower is open - so the water goes all over the bathroom. This was very uncomfortable. Overall, with the above being said - we still managed to have fun....and anytime we asked the staff for something (i.e, iron, etc.)...they were quick to help us and very kind. It is 3 Stars and I guess you get what you pay for. If you are looking for a great location and not a lot of amenities - this is the place for you. Also, on the last morning of our stay - we managed to get to the breakfast (we chose not to have it included in our room price -good thing)...however, the breakfast was amazing with all kinds of meats, cheeses, boiled eggs, fruit, etc. So thus the name of the review "Good and Bad"....this place is full of both...if you are not a "fussy" traveler - a wonderful place. If you like the Ritz...then don't even try it!
“Lovely hotel but...”
The shower (wet area) was screened off with a curtain creating too small an area. So the cold wet shower curtain touching your body was not a nice experience. The hotel is in a fab location. Clen and pleasant. I'd thoroughly recommend.
“Teh perfect location for shopping”
it´s just 3 meter away of la gran via so you are close to the comercial district of Madrid and full of good restaurants
“Good place to stay”
The hotel was very centrally located and the reception staff was very friendly and inviting. The room could have used a little bit of attention, specifically the bathrooms, however the hotel was in good condition and I would recommend it as a great place to stay in Madrid
