Dining
Arco - A la carte but informal dining at this restaurant focuses on Spanish Mediterranean cuisine for lunch and dinner and extensive buffet. The parquet floor is offset by caramel-colored leather banquets and small chandeliers. There are 80 covers.and street access.
The Miguel Angel Bar - Located at the far end of the lobby to the right, this bar is decorated with a mix of low, black leather chairs, fabric-covered sofas, an 18th-century wardrobe, and real fireplace. Soft and alcoholic drinks and snacks are served all day at the wooden bar.
The Pergola - Located at the far end of the lobby overlooking the garden, this glass-roofed conservatory has a white marble floor and cheerful painted wooden table tops with wrought iron legs. Tea and coffee is served in this brightly lit space all day. It is also a popular spot for cocktails and refreshments for businesspeople on a break (the meeting rooms are adjacent).
The Miguel Angel Garden - This terraced garden, set on three levels, has two rows of tall fir trees and bay trees in pots. An a la carte dinner is served here from June to September. There are 80 covers, some shade, and fans to protect against the heat of summer. A small kitchen in a wooden chalet ensures food is very fresh.

“Rooms are 2 star hotel”
Rooms are very standard. Like a 2 star hotel
“Could have been better”
The hotel is old and shows it. I don't think the caperts were changed in many years. The restaurant is expensive . $5.25 for a cup of coffee is more then what you pay at the Ritz. Although the service was good and the location is OK for my business trip I would recommend it for a vacation.
“good location, old hotel.”
if you consider a high-end hotel, consider the palace or ritz instread. Although the other 2 are as old, the customer service and services offered make all the difference. very disappointing!
“Fading gently”
Lovely hotel though needing updated, in contrast to the spa area, which was up to date and well managed. Staff throughout were friendly and efficient. TV/internet issues. Very close to metro, so easy access to tourist area.
“NOT a five star hotel!”
Shabby decor with antiques mixed with 1970's smoked glass and brass tables. The room was small and dark and overlooked roofs with airconditioners (we were on the 4th floor). The carpets throughout were threadbare. When we went to check out, the concierge had to go get someone to help us and then three people stood around without anyone asking if we needed help getting a cab or managing the luggage. Looking for a five star experience? Go elsewhere.
“Excellent service”
We received an excellent service from the personel of the hotel
“Watch out for the extras!!”
Stayed for a week in this hotel on a room only rate. Location is good right next to Gregorio Maranon metro stop. Rooms are comfortable and cleaned twice daily. Some of the decor is looking a bit tired but otherwise the hotel is okay. The hotel is advertised with a pool. Be aware that the charge to hotel guests is 40euro per day to use the basic pool / spa facilities!! Breakfast is also a hefty 26euro per person!
“Great Getaway”
Although we live in Madrid, checking into the Miguel Angel for a weekend getaway was a perfect idea. We enjoyed the lounge area, the spa (small but perfect) and the comfort of the room.
“Great Hotel, if a bit of a distance from main tourist sights.”
With the Metro just a few steps from the front of the hotel entrance, it makes sense to use it to visit the main sights. (only a euro to main sights and 2 euro to the airport) The rooms were bigger than expected, and very clean. Only one complaint and that was there was no tea/coffee making facilities in the room.
“Great place to tour Madrid from”
The hotel was very attractive. The staff was quite attentive. For us the location was perfect. It is near where our son is staying. However the best feature of the hotel is the metro entrance essentially at the front door. this allowed us to get anywhere quickly.
