“Satisfied”
I wouldnt say this is a 4 star hotel but it provided exactly what we were after - close proximity to Chamartin Station. in fact you cant get closer if that is what you are after, this hotel is actually in th same building as the station. I have stayed at nicer and cleaner 3 star hotels but for what we paid, this was perfect, we weren´t expecting luxury.
“Stay Away, not impressed”
We were on business and booked the room. The building dates to at least 1960, and looks like it too. It reminded me of what Russia must have looked like during that time period. The rooms are tiny, and haven't been updated in years. The carpet- all 1 millimeter thick of it- was worn through in several spots. Their is ONE outlet to use, and it's in the bathroom. The air conditioner didn't work, luckily the windows could open wide. There are very annoying outside shutters that are disgustingly dirty. Finally, the bed was hard as a rock. The shower was dirty, and there were still hairs from the previous visitor. The staff barely knew English, and in the morning, no one did! We tried to get directions and it was utterly hopeless. The only good thing about the hotel was its location to downtown and on top of the train station. In the US, this would be a 2 star hotel, so if you need to stay for cheap, then yes, this place will do.
“Not a 4 star hotel”
very bad rooms, old and not clean bathroom. stay away from it.
“Location, location”
A good hotel for the price, business/low profile, from the 80's. But the location is superb, near Plaza Castilla - important connection hub - and just outise the Chamartin train and Metro station. You can go directly from Barajas Airport just paying the Metro fare. Quiet, non pretenses, good for a short stay.
“Get what you pay for In Madrid!!”
Hotel was all right,I was prepared for it being dated and a bit tatty, the bed was rock hard but the sheets clean. They didn't however have the best cleaning service, hairs found on the bathrooms floor, not very pleasant! Great being so close to the metro, literally above it,down an escalator and into the station, the area outside the hotel is dirty, its like the hotel is built over the metro station and integrated with a multi storey car park for the locals and taxi's.Also the locals use the surrounding area to urinate after a good night out!A couple of clubs are near by,they don't appear to be for tourists...they do however enjoying smashing lots of glass when it closes at 4am!! This said,it was cheap,I went for a long weekend with my brother,we both had a good time but wouldn't stay there again. We roughed it for the sake of saving money!
“Good place to be”
The location is great - it's easy to reach it from the airport, and if you have to travel with train this is the place to be. Everything was neat - the room, the bed, the bathroom. Not new but very well maintained and for a very reasonable price. Also lots of nice places to eat in the train station which is beside the hotel.
“Good hotel at Chamartin Train Station”
I've stayed at this hotel twice, and find it convenient to the Chamartin train station. Though not recommended for a long stay (a hotel near the Gran Via or the Puerta del Sol would be more convenient in that case), this hotel is a good choice the night before or after a train trip to or from a destination served by the Chamartin station. (The other train station in Madrid is Atocha, at the end of the Paseo del Prado.) The hotel is located halfway between the airport and the center of Madrid, which can be reached by a quick subway ride. It's clean and efficient though the desk staff cannot be described as friendly.
“Husa Chamartin is located in a very convenient area right next to the subway and train station.”
I have stayed there twice and I have been satisfied with the location , the cleanliness and services of teh hotel. The hotel is located halfway between the airport and the downtown area of Madrid. You can get there from the airport by taking the subway for 2 euros. The station is right next to the hotel (few walking steps and you are in teh hotel). For 11 euros a day you can get unlimited access to the subway and be able to go wherever you want in Madrid. There are plenty of restaurants inside the train station where you can have a cheap breakfast or lunch.
“A bit tired”
The hotel that is - it's really in need of some updating. Upon arrival I was told there was no reservation - but after checking on Expedias site they found it. I stay here because it's cheap - that is the only reason.
“Close to the train station, but that's about it”
Right next to the main station for trains coming to and from Paris and the north-east. If you're coming in on a late train, it's a decent enough place to crash, but it's very 70s and not that comfortable. Chamartín is distant from the city centre, too. Better to hop on the metro and get to a hotel around Gran Vía or Sol.
