“Fantastic honeymoon”
Very friendly but uber smart hotel. Room was fantastic, split level with great skylights. We would definitely visit again.
“First rate”
Friendly, professional, amenable to special requests, clean and well kept rooms, quiet, very good restaurant hotel attached to the hotel although they did try to charge £28 for a brandy that I did not order, which I hope was inadvertent. When i pointed it out they made it free. Very impressed, would use again
“Terrific Madrid Hotel”
My husband and I loved staying at the Hospes Madrid. The location is perfect-- across from beautiful Buen Retiro Park and in walking distance of all the major museums and great restaurants. The staff is friendly and helpful and speak English beautifully. Most importantly for us, our room (at the back of the hotel) was absolutely quiet! We had only two minor complaints: when we arrived there was no soap in our room because the hotel had run out and rather than offer to get some for us, they suggested we buy some, which we did. Second, the closets are small and there is very little drawer space, making it a little awkward to unpack for a long stay. Still, we loved the place and would eagerly go back.
“Excellent hotel”
The hotel was everything and more than we expected. We were welcomed when we arrived with a glass of champagne or water and were then shown to the most delightful bedroom. We had been upgraded to a deluxe room (although we were unaware of this at the time) and it was extremely large with two sofas, a king-size bed, a separate toilet and a bath which was on a raised level at the far end of the room. The hotel staff were extremely helpful with all our queries. We ate in the hotel restaurant for two nights and the food was delicious. The breakfast was the best that we ate in Spain over the two weeks that we were there, beautifully presented in a calm atmosphere. Although the hotel is on a busy junction in Madrid there was no noise inside the hotel and the hotel was an oasis of calm.
“Excellent location”
Beautifully decorated hotel, excellent location...across the street from El Retiro park, near the Gran Via, Cibeles, Paseo de la Castellana ....we walked to museums, restaurants and shopping. Very friendly and helpful staff. Our first room was a nice superior room with an open bathroom floor plan.... I personally like to take my shower in private. When we came back the second time ...we got upgraded to a beautiful suite with balconies overlooking the Puerta de Alcala... No problems with the shower there. The breakfast buffet was excellent...everyday something different. My only complaint... if there is one.. a bit pricy but I would definitely come back .
“Great Hotel”
Great location. Big and comfortable rooms. Connected to the airport via a shuttle.
“Boutique Hotel with Good Price in Very good location”
Good hotel , amazing service and perfect location
“Will definitely go back!l!!!”
This hotel was wonderful in every aspect. The rooms were larger than expected, beautifully decorated, and well-lit. The large bed was also very comfortable. The rooms had high quality soaps, shampoos, and even packaged loofahs! Our rooms were always cleaned so well... I have to admit, it felt like my mom had tidied up my room :) The staff was also always courteous, helpful, and genuinely nice. The breakfast was truly excellent. I would DEFINITELY go back to this hotel. I've stayed at many nice hotels, but this was really one of the best :)
“great hotel”
Great boutique hotel..great location. very accommodating staff. would stay here again
“Great Hotel, Great City but would only visit once.”
Really well located Hotel with all the major sites being within walking distance or a 5-10 taxi ride. Even though the hotel is located by the Plaza de la Independicia roundabout the room was very tranquil and quiet. Great Hotel, Great City but would only visit once. There are better city locations across Europe in my opinion e.g. London, Paris, Barcelona, Prague, Berlin etc to which I have visited all. If you like art then this is the city for you as all the major tourist sites are in one way or another linked to art. If not choose another location. Definately visit the Santiago Berneabeu (Real Madrid Stadium) tour, well worth it. Although your girlfriend/wife may provide some strong resistance to suggesting this.
