“Helpfulness of Reception Desk”
Upon our arrival, we discovered that our reservation had accidentally been made for the previous month. The young man at the reception desk was very helpful and understanding in signing us in at the original rate.
“normal”
nothing special, wi fi for free
“it was OK”
the hotel was nice, but i got a room in the very back of the hotel under the roof. overall it was OK considering the price.
“Lovely”
A perfectly lovely hotel, with friendly staff and a desirable location. Easy to reach by metro given that there is a metro stop at either end of the street, which also means easy transport to and from the airport. The breakfast seemed a bit pricey to me, but that wasn't really an issue as there are plenty of places to eat nearby.
“Great Hotel, not the best location”
My room was great, had a big balcony, perfect walking distance for many sites. The only downside was that I was traveling alone and was not comfortable going out at night. I would stay here again only if I am not alone next time.
“Good for short stay”
The hotel has a nice lobby, however there breakfast buffet is expensive. It is better to eat breakfast else where. The lobby did provide us a map of the city but no major information in where to travel around the city. They also did not mention about the refridgerator in the room. Lastly there was a water leak in the ceiling near the toilet caused by the condensation of there air conditioning unit. We addressed the problem but it was not fixed. The hotel is near a police station. It does get somewhat noisy at night and you can hear the cars passing by eventhough we were staying on the 5th floors. They do provide free internet access in the lobby but the computer is a bit slow. For the price and location it is convenient for a short 2 day stay.
“It was a good experience for a short stay in Madrid”
We were satisfied with our 1 night stay at this hotel. Staff was helpful. Location was nearby attractions. Place was clean and comfortable.
“Great Hotel in the heart of Madrid!”
Great hotel in the heart of Madrid. Very clean and affordable... within walking distance of all the sites. Rooms are on the smallish side, but we were out most of the day and just used the room for rest. Staff was also friendly and helpful! A+++
“The front desk staff lied to us three different times”
We booked this hotel because of the conveniejnce of the location however that´s where the positive ended. Apon arrival we were told by the reception that the air conditioning wasn´t working in the rooms. After an awful night with the windows open trying for any breeze it was like sleeping in a hot box. The next day the front desk staff told me that there was no air conditioning because the city of Madrid imposed a ban on the use of air conditioning til June for the purpose of energy conservation. That night was again a sleepless one. Upon check out the next morning the manager told us that the hotel only turns on the air conditioner in summer and it was still considered the winter season even though temperatures were 25C or more. It was quite obvious to me that they could have cared less about our comfort. We were only tourists passing through so what the heck. We moved to another hotel in Madrid where the air conditioning works quite well. So who do you believe? Also we didn´t have a fireplace in our room even though it felt like it. Don´t waste your money on this place. Also the breakfast buffet was very expensive 14€ per person and wasn´t that good. We found cafes nearby that were much better for half the price. I have trvelled around the world and have put up with much but I don´t like being lied to and disrespected as a tourist.
“Comfortable and friendly”
The hotel was just what we expected. there were 3 of us staying in the room with a foldout couch which was remarkably comfortable, and we had a small porch. The room was a little cramped with all of us in there, but certainly doable and would have been very spacious with two. The bathroom was large and everything was quite clean and well kept. The location was good, but not amazing - pretty area, near a subway but about a 15 minute walk to Las Ramblas or other areas with good resturants, etc. The staff was friendly, helpful, and spoke good English.

Plaza de Espana - Royal Palace, Madrid, Spain: At the western end of the arterial Gran Via, Plaza de España is home to Franco-era architecture like the monstrous red and white Edificio España. The nearby Palacio Real (royal palace) was rebuilt in 1764 and is still used for state functions. It contains some wonderfully ornate rooms and is free on Wednesdays to EU citizens (take your passport). Admire the statues in the lovely Sabatini Gardens afterwards.
