“Nice hotel, all what you are looking for in a comfy city break”
I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It's very close to all main attractions (walking distance) and also very clean with friendly staff. Would highly recommend. I will stay there again at my next visit to Madrid. Ps. Make sure you exchange money in England. In Spain 1 pound worth less than 1 €!!!
“Excellent value and position”
Very handy to the main street for shops, cafes and buses, with several metro stations within easy walking distance. Enjoyed the 2 euro ride to the airport!!
“Excellent Weekend”
.....at the Best Western Los Condes in Madrid. Cemtrally located in, not the prettiest looking side-street, off the Grand Via. and not enhanced by all the road works going on ALL over Madrid at the moment but we found it an excellent hotel for our weekend break. All the staff were very good. The room was very nice with every facility that we needed and were kept spotlessly clean. The free Wi-Fi was a great bonus.
“Great location for access to almost everything”
Hotel is about 1 hour from the airport via underground and costs 5 euros a couple. There is 1 change but overall it is a dawdle and the walk to the hotel is not far. Room was small and basic and the toilet was very compact. I found the beds very hard and the pillow to thin and too soft. The TV had only 1 English channel - BBC World. HOWEVER, its location just off the Gran Via was just about as good as it gets and way overshadows my niggly complaints. Also the continental breakfasts were very good. Location meant you could get back for a siesta mid afternoon when things slow down.
“Good location - room a little bare, what you pay for!”
The location is AMAZING, right near a great park, some great clubs, shops and restaurants, absolutely perfect if you're a young couple looking to go out, and if you don't like clubbing there are loads of places to eat, and it isn't too noisy. The hotel hasn't been decorated for a while - I did joke that it reminded me of the shining at one point, but its clean, and the staff are really nice, so I was pleased. Good if you want a cheap, fun break, not so good if you have kids or want a plush hotel.
“Great price for central location”
Good location - 1 minute walk to Gran Via & easy walking distance to most main attractions. Best of all, great price for where you are. The rooms are a decent size with the basic amenities - mini bar, safe & TV - but most importantly, clean. The staff are friendly. My rate didn't include breakfast but that was fine as I could experience it the 'local way' with a cup of chocolcate with churros nearby.
“Well situated for sights”
Centrally situated, just off Gran Via. Hotel room was large for a triple and very clean, decent size bathroom, wood floors, air-conditioning worked very well, fridge and safe (1euro each time opened) not forgetting flat screen t.v. But no coffee/tea facilities.Didn't stay for breakfast as we found a very nice cafe a few minutes away. All in all I would say good value for money. The sights are within walking distance but we used the tourist bus as we got to see more, bus stop two minutes from hotel.
“It's good service but beware with the taxi tariff”
I'm overall satisfied with this hotel. The staff was helpful and kind. The room was neat, though a little small (the bed, fridge and desk felt crowded in the small room). The location was really central and convenient. I just didn't like the taxi the hotel got for me to go to the airport. They told me they would charge me according to the taxi meter. When I got to the airport, the driver charged me 8 euros more (the meter marked 30 euros)!. I complained and he gave some silly answer. At 5am in the morning, I was just not in the mood for arguments. I think the hotel should make sure that costumers got the best service even with the taxis they hire!. That is the only thing I didn't like from this trip.
“Good, basic comfortable hotel, well-postioned and quiet”
A good, no-frills clean and comfortable hotel- fine for a short break. Service was good and staff helpful. It's conveniently situated to the centre of Madrid-less than 5 minutes walk away. The bed was comfortable and the hotel was nice and quiet. My only gripe was that towels looked a bit jaded-clean but old.
“Basic but a brilliant location!”
Stayed as a couple in this hotel in the very heart of Madrid, close to Tour bus stop, bus stops and Metro. Most of the main "must -do" sights are within walking distance and therefore it is a good location if one wishes to visit Madrid on a bit of a budget! It is also near good restaurants and cafes. The room was fairly basic but comfortable and clean. The reception staff are very courteous and helpful and speak good English. We had no complaints!
