“Great Hotel at a great location...”

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Loved it's modern design, location, cleanliness of the room, spa jet shower, lcd tv, etc. Street noise was not a problem although it it's at La Gran Via area, just steps from El Callao Station. Great restaurant and jewelry store around the corner, also Fast food options. It has elevator. Good value for the price. You can go anywhere walking (Plaza del Sol, Plaza Mayor, El Retiro Park) or metro.

“great location very close to all tourist attractions”

good hotel very close to all attractions , very friendly and helpful staff , room clean and pleasant the only thing i would mention was the quality of the bedding (mattress too hard for me) and also we could hear the people next door talking but apart from that good overall and i would recommend this hotel.

“Honeymooners cant wait to go back”

We spent 3 days in this hotel. The hotel is VERY close to everything you want to see in Madrid. This was our 1st time in madrid we decided to take the bus and the metro instead of a taxi and we were able to find the hotel with minimum issues. We purchased a 10 trip pass for the metro and we were able to move around without having to spend money in taxi service, since the hotel is five minutes or less walking to the la gran via metro station and 1 minute from a bus station.

“Negresco: June 2009”

We booked a room at Negresco for early June in late March. Most of the traveler priced hotels were being filled at that time. Negresco is located off the Gran Via within walking distance to the metro and most of the major tourist attractions. The rooms are rather plain but a very good value @ the Expedia booking price.

“Great trip.”

Madrid is a fabulous city. Plenty of cultural stuff, beautiful buildings, well connected city, Great food, great wines and not too expensive. Be aware that restaurants allow smoking, so one has to contend with passive smoking. A visit to Toledo is a must. Takes 30 mins by fast train from ATOCHA RENFE metro station. Trains every hour and please book in advance to avoid disappointment. Staff at the hotel reception knew English and were very helpful.

“Cute hotel in the heart of Madrid”

First thing to know: Street signs in Europe are posted on building corners on the actual buildings. Not on the street posts like in America. The hotel is conveniently located a few steps away from the Gran Via station. Location location is the best asset of this hotel. Within 2 or 3 blocks, you will reach Puerta Del Sol and further down is Plaza Mayor. The Metro is highly convenient, but most locations are within 10mins walking distance. The hotel itself is a nice and comfortable little hotel. The rooms are definitely "european" in terms of size and character. Do not expect huge rooms like you would in America, otherwise you would be utterly disappointed. However, I do think that this is all the space anyone would need. Taller/bigger people would probably be uncomfortable in the bathroom. It IS tiny. I am 5'7" and my knee hits the door-swing when sitting on the toilet. For not-so-tall people, this hotel is a gem!!!

“Shame about the volcano”

Cheap and cheerful, friendly staf and a great location! Just a shame about getting home in the face of an erupting volcano...

“Decent hotel with friendly staff”

Central location, just off gran via. Within walking distance of nightlife district of madrid. Old but clean. Bathroom was newer and very clean. Staff was super nice, they put us in another hotel which was much nicer for the first night because our room wasn't ready yet with breakfast.

“great location”

2mins from metro. All the big shops at your door, 2mins from Peurto del Sol. Really friendly Cervesias within spitting distance of the hotel. Really nice desayano in the local cafes for less than 2 euro (3 with an orange juice). Downsides - the room didn't have any natural light, the front staff looked unhappy, but were prepared to help if you asked them.
