“Shame about the volcano”

Cheap and cheerful, friendly staf and a great location! Just a shame about getting home in the face of an erupting volcano...

“Great Location”

The hotel is in a great location to explore Madrid. In the height of summer, I think you would need air con as it's probably too noisy to sleep with windows open. Hotel is small and friendly. Staff very helpful.

“The Good and the Bad”

As far as location goes it doesn't get much better. Situated between the Grand Via and Sol it is an ideal base for eating, drinking and sight seeing. The Hotel itself is relatively modern and has a mini fridge, t.v, hairdryer and multi function shower. The view was of a restaurant and courtyard down below and the people in the rooms opposite. With the curtains open those same people can see directly into your room. Not ideal when exiting the shower. The other down side was that the room was hot and stuffy with the window shut and loud with it open. The Grand Via is a very busy road with both vehicular and pedestrian traffic and Sol is the party distict so noises come with the territory. We were serenaded by tipsy Spaniards especially on Saturday night The beds were a tad hard and pillows were different shapes. All in all the Hotel was above average with friendly staff and excellent location.

“Great location! Hotel needs Renovation!”

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights! Amazing location ! Right in the city centre!unfortunately the hotel is badly in need of renovation! Rooms small with old carpet. The fire alarm woke me up 2 times, no one apologise for the inconvenience of me doing 5 floors of stairs up and down twice.

“Unsafe building work ruined break!”

We arrived to find building work being carried out on the stairs. The noise of the building work was constant from 10am - 7pm and the dust throughout the whole hotel was awful!! What made it worse was the safety factor, being on the 4th floor with no staircase (it had been knocked away), with only a tiny lift, which obviously could not be used in case of a fire etc was extremely worrying. The staff were unhelpful with no apologies for the noise or dust! Only positive was the great location.
