You can do better
We were not advised that there would be a late check in fee of €20 payable when we arrived. The apartment was basic with less than adequate kitchen equipment. OK if all you want to have is somewhere to sleep. Good location.

Close to a lot of major sites and Atocha station.
Mqjor sites like Plaza Mayor, Prado Museum, botanical gardens, anf El Retiro Park are all walking distance. Lots of cafes, restaurants and playgrounds close by. It gets very noisy at night but it's all part of the experience.

Very disappointed
First of all staff were very pleasant however the the apartment needed a lot of maintenance. Shower door hanging off its hinges , broken toilet seat, broken window shutters. Although the apartment was well situated for Madrid central do not expect to get any sleep due to noise outside which goes all though the night and I mean all through the night. We have stayed in Madrid 7 times in the last 2 years so I can speak from experience. Would not return.

Nice location
The location is excellent - very close to Puerto del Sol and metro stations. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The apartment was nice but the WiFi connection was very poor.

Excellent location, lots of space
Location, location, location. It is in the perfect location. And you get a lot more room than just a regular hotel. With some "old charm." If you don't expect a 5-start marble-covered room, you get a lot of space, and you don't have to organize your stuff so it won't get in the way of the maid every morning. Note: if you arrive after 5 PM, you need to contact the hotel by email (they'll send you one, just reply). Overall, an excellent choice. I can't repeat it often. Location is just perfect

Great Location
Welcoming staff available only 9 to 5 , helpful with plans, location excellent in heart of central city, very clean, bed too hard for me, tv works well but only Spanish speaking channels available, kitchen nicely supplied and useful. no oven bathroom very functional great shower but on the small size very quiet in spite of being near all the city activities

A good hotel close to the Metro, rooms were good but only one decent bed. The biggest complaint that despite me booking four rooms on one transaction we were charged €40 each room for late check in . That made our stay at a budget hotel pricey.

Our room was horrible!!!
Mold on bathroom ceiling. Couch with vinyl fabric that was peeled away. Website says 2 bedrooms but one did not even have door on it for privacy or quiet. Website says pillow-top mattresses but we had none and it was hard as a brick. Toilet poster said not to flush toilet paper - are you kidding me! Shower so small, hard to turn around. And kitchenette poorly stocked. I see the other reviews and trusted them. Obviously, no reviewer stayed in room number 1 in a while or reviewed that room. All rooms on one 2nd floor and ours did not have a single window to outside fresh air. a few windows to open air through building shaft. Buyer beware.

Nice hotel close to many things
My sisters and I stayed two nights at the hotel and it was a nice place to stay. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly and the hotel was within walking distance to a lot of attractions. We would stay at this hotel again.

Great Central location!
We were staying in Madrid for 2 nights and were looking for a central place...I came across Apartamentos Las Letras. Location was great for us, very close or short walk to anything you need. The room was a lot smaller than it appeared on the pictures. But overall our experience was great!

Good location but lacks in space and layout
The apartment was in a great location, but lacked in space and layout. The bathroom was tiny and shower cabin very, very small. We had no good views in our apartment. Did not use the kitchen as many items, utensils were missing. There was no toileters provided either.

Wonderful hotel in the center of Madrid
Las letras is located right at the heart of the "tapas" district in Madrid (the Plaza de Santa Ana), and by the Plaza Mayor and the Puerta del Sol. Is a modern hotel in a popular area (Huertas and the Letras district). Rooms are well equipped for cooking basic meals. Bathroom a little bit small with the inconvenience of having an electronic toilet, but it is a minor issue. Very, very friendly staff. I will go back next time I am in Madrid.

A great space in an exciting neighborhood
We thoroughly enjoyed our three day stay. The building is beautiful and the apartments are modern, spacious and well furnished. We definitely recommend the place to anyone who wants to be in the are of the major museums in Madrid.

Enjoyed our stay. We booked an apartment and a studio, didnt realise that the apartment had been paid for but the studio was not and had to pay once we got there. This was not explained beforehand by the operator/hotel.con who booked it for us via telephone. We wanted to cancel the studio but unable to as we were advised we should have done this 2 days in advance. Not a good start but the views in madrid made up for this.

Lack of English language by Spanish taxi driver was worrying me, however, I was relieved to know that the taxi fare is fixed 30euros. This place is right in the heart of the city. 10 minutes walk to Grand Via, and there are 6 different known tourist attractions that you can walk. Madrid is interesting, some streets are showing the sign of depression, some looked to as what you expect in a modern European city. Location of this accommodation is noisy, and it stays noisy late in the night. Caretaker is charming leady, she welcomed us with a smile and gave us a good knowledge of the city, she showed us the place and gave us all the information, then we did not see her at all. I enjoyed my stay in Madrid, Not so expensive like France and Italy, good friendly people to deal with. Lot to see, but 3 days is the most I will stay.

Good location, staff very helpful and friendly with good English, low cost, quiet and good security, accommodation not luxurious but adequate for a few nights stay. Spotlessly clean. Easy acces to Prado and other attractions, walk to palace, place major etc. little supermarket and fruit shop next door. Close to MADRID Ocha station, $ 15 taxi or $1.40 metro to Chamartin good for day trip to Beautiful Segovia.

Cozy Little Thing
The apartment is great for someone traveling on a budget, its reasonable and well maintained, but the bathroom was small and when I was blow-drying my hair, I kept hitting my elbow either to the right with wall or to the left with the shower. Also common with most places here in Spain, you will find the two twin beds pushed together, makes snuggling at night a bit hazardous, the beds seemed to part easier than at our next place. And while the management had signs for other guests to be quite, the walls are thin. Overall it was nice though, the staff speaks English, are SUPER friendly and event provide you with an awesome map of the city.

Great Madrid Location
This hotel has a great Madrid location, around the corner from Plaza Santa Ana. It is also a 20 min walk from Atocha railway station and 10 min walk from Prado. Rooms are small but it has a kitchenette. There are stores near by to buy food if needed. This is more of a pension than a conventional hotel. Hotel staff was available only during the day, mostly between 9 and 6 because we were there during low season (end of September). This means that if you needed anything after these hours, there was no one around . We did have an issue in our room with the air conditioning not working as well as we expected.

It's better than hotel it's better than motel it's best so far than anything called hotel...the place the staff and condition was best....and we wish they had them in Europe.....my family was happy .

We spent one week on the hotel (pay in advance). The hotel is nice but has a problem with the bathroom smell. Lavatories produce bad odor, because of wrong instalation. (See picture). This problem could be solved, by installing correctly the faucet. They could have change the faucet tube by applying the sifon effect with a natural water filter.The bathroom has a bad distribution. The defects, are easy to solve, but they did not do. We had to open the windows, even at night. Another problem was the sofa-bed, it isnt comfortable. You did not pay to sleep in a bathroom. If this problems are solved, I would recommend this hotel because it has a good service, nice decoration, and the location is really comfortable.

Great hotel for a family.
Stay,ed here as a family with a 9 year old child. Nice room in a great location. 3 minutes walk from Sol and right next to C/Huertas, where you have more bars and restaurants you'll ever need, but if you don't want to go out, there are take away places around and a kitchen with microwave in the room. The room was really quiet all day long. I would stay here again

The overall tidiness of the hotel is good but the distance to the attactions and Metro is quite far away. It was not easy to find the hotel when we arrived Barcelona. By the way, the streets are quiet at the night. The reimbursement is expensive if you broke the glass during the stay.

This is a nice hotel near the heart of Madrid. It is near the Anton Martin Station on Line 1, which is only 2 stops from Sol and 3 stops from Gran Via. These are the main tourist stops so it is very nice. The hotel is in a quite location - no party goers. Near by are some great tapas and bars for some great evening or snacks/meals. For those missing home, there is a Burger King basically right out side the hotel with FREE REFILLS! That is almost unheard of in Europe, let alone so close to down town.

Fantastic location
You really felt that you were experiencing the real Madrid in this great location, close to lots of the sights but in amongst the heart of the city, lovely places to eat especially in Plaza Santa Ana. The staff were very helpful and we would recommend using the taxi service, recommended by them.

You cannot fault the location, it's perfectly placed just a few metres from various metro stations and within walking distance of many central Madrid attractions. The "hotel" is actually a converted hostel, on the first floor of a mixed development. Reception is housed in a a dark corridor and is not inviting, however, the room itself was satisfactory upon arrival. We had a triple room which included a small lounge area, kitchenette and shower. The beds were comfy but I had to sleep on the sofa bed which was less satisfactory. The kitchenette is adequate for most tourist needs, but they don't supply cleaning materials and they don't clean room every day so it quickly deteriorates. My main bug bear was the toilet. They have chemical toilets so you cannot flush toilet paper and are required to place soiled paper into a bin. The bin is not lined and to my horror, I was told that I was responsible for emptying the contents into the bins located in the street. I should be thankful that reception gave me a plastic bag so that I was able to empty the bin more easily. The other big problem is noise. the walls are think, the corridors noisy and despite the big signs asking people to be quiet, your sleep will be disturbed at night. Avoid room 8. It is right by the lift shaft and main door and everyone passes this room when they enter.

Great Apartment
I spent a wk with 2 family members. We stayed in Apt 8. It was a reasonable size for us. The apt backs onto a courtyard. This can be a bit noisey in the mornings. But it's not that bad. The staff were helpful and spoke English. The shower was great! The sofas comfy. The bed was not to my comfort but adequate. The kitchen, although compact suited us as we only used the fridge. There was no kettle though so we boiled water in a pan. The one thing majorly lacking was a MIRROR! They could of had one on a wall or inside a cupboard. Location wise there is a supermarket next door and a fruit shop a few doors away. There is a bank on the corner and had a great exchange rate. Great location for all attractions within easy walking distance.

C'était très court, mais l'hôtel est à deux pas des principales collections : Prado, Thyssen, Reine Sophie, Beaux-arts, etc. Le quartier est très calme tout en offrant ce qu'il faut pour dîner, prendre un verre, flâner. l'hôtel est donc au coeur du quartier et bénéficie cependant d'un calme olympien, ce qui n'est pas négligeable. Accueil efficace et sympathique – tout va bien :-)

Grand studio bien situé dans Madrid
L'appartement est bien situé : proche de la gare Atocha et proche du centre de Madrid. Les principaux centres d'intérêt peuvent se visiter à pied. On trouve aussi des commerces dans la rue et aux alentours. La localisation est donc idéale si l'on veut visiter le centre de Madrid. Le personnel est très agréable et une petite attention nous a été donnée pour le jour de l'an : une bouteille de vin mousseux. Un marché offrant des produits de belle qualité se trouve de l'autre côté de la rue Atocha et de nombreux commerces sont situés à proximité du Studio. L'immeuble dans lequel les studios sont aménagés est ancien et très plaisant avec un beau cachet. Ce logement est idéal pour une personne seule ou un couple.
