“Fantastic Hotel”
Booked a Superior room for 7 days - given room 210 which had 2 large balconies - facing east & south - great to open them both up and get a breeze blowing - but needed Air Conditioning overnight. Breakfast included very nice. Offered a deal for Hotel Evening Meal - 3/4 nights at set rate (wine extra) - good value for money. Catering staff were all truly outstanding. Hotel Pool rather small for swimmming - Pool Bar snacks does excellent Fish! You can go to the Lido below for a few Euros all day.
“Definitley will go back! Can't wait!”
We really enjoyed our stay - we couldn't fault the hotel at all. Although not in the centre of town the bus and taxi service is excellent so wasn't a problem. The food was lovely and plenty of it and all the staff were friendly and very helpful. I can recommend sipping a cocktail under the stars on their outdoor chairs overlooking the sea... Can't wait to return...
“WOW!! factor”
We arrived at the hotel, tired from the travelling but were soon awakened with the WOW factor. We opened the door and drew back the curtains and it took aour breath away. It was amazing. Staff all very kind and helpful, ameneties perfect, cleanliness was paramount. Would go back tomorrow
“Good Value”
Nice location and easy walk to Funchal (about 40 mins stroll). Very quiet with nice sea view being adjacent to promenade. Lots restaurants nearby - must try Magic grill for great steaks, etc.
“Regency Cliff Hotel is exceptional”
The room was very nice, not much on TV, but you don't go to Madeira for TV. The staff were very helpful. The food was good, but very limited choice and not real wine list to speak of. I would go back and stay there, but there are just too many other places to go.
“Nice Hotel - Good Value for Money”
Regency Cliff is a pleasant hotel on the outskirts of Funchal. Staff are extremely helpful and the breakfast is good (eggs cooked to order would have made it even better). The standard room we had was large with a very large bed. Good sea view. Bathroom needed a little updating but was fine. Pool area was good for relaxing and had a nice bar, although the pool itself was very cold. The hotel is a short walk from the busier Lido area where there are some restaurants and a few shops (mainly aimed at the tourists). You need to catch a bus to get into the centre of Funchal but this is very easy to do. Overall a pleasant stay and good value for money.
“Not quite as nice as last time.”
The restaurant and reception staff are excellent. The situation of this hotel is wonderful we had stayed there in the past and loved it. The staff in the restaurant are the same people that were there in 2008 and just as lovely as last time. We were on half board and the evening meals were varied and very tasty. I think they need to give their room cleaners either more time or more training as the bath wasn't as clean as it should have been this time.
