“Can't wait to return”
Highly recommend using expedia to book your holiday,
“A comfortable and enjoyable stay”
Hotel was fairly easy to find, had a rental car so appreciated private undercover car park in basement. Reception were very friendly, excellent english, they took our bags to room which was nice. Room very spacey, comfortable and clean, excellent bathroom, had a suite to good extra lounge space, great views from balcony. Decor good except balcony a little 'tired' but not a problem. Lights a little dim as all 'low energy' bulbs but thats being picky! Facilities were great, lovely pool and sauna areas, even table tennis. Breakfast was a plus with both continental and english options. Didnt use restaurant as many better priced alternatives within 100m. Took our own tea bags/coffee as advised and didnt use mini bar, though fridge was useful for our own stuff. Free shuttle to and from Funchal was very useful and always on time. Nice local promenade strolls too. All in all great hotel and good location
“ecelleence”
an excellent hotel in every way -nothing whatever to grumble at
“Tivoli Madeira is a great hotel!”
We stayed at Tivoli Madeira from 27 Sept to 7 Oct and had a lovely holiday. The hotel is very very clean, the bed was huge, we had a lovely sea view. The hotel has more of a business feel to it but this didn't bother us in the slightest. We found the hotel staff as friendly as they needed to me and helpful. The bar is very quiet but there is so much to do outside of your hotel that we felt no need to even stay in the hotel. We had a massage which was amazing.
“Happy in Madeira”
Overall a very good hotel experience and we will be back sometime
“Brilliant Hol”
Brilliant place to stay plenty to do and visit, food excellant but can be a bit pricey.
“Very Impressed”
We stayed 5 nights for a complete chill out break. The hotel was fairly quiet due to the time of year but everthing was open. The pools both indoor and out were well maintained. We only ate breakfast in the hotel which was full buffet with all tastes catered for and very pleasant sitting outside under umbrellas. Out side the hotel within easy walking distance were plenty of restaurants to choose from for evening meals. The hotel also provided a mini bus into Funchal during the day which was very useful. We would certainly go again.
“High standards across the board.”
Great hotel.....good food...good staff...good facilities....everything was constantly good for the whole week. Even with the changeable weather, the hotel was so comfortable I was happy to be inside !
“Tivoli December break - Funchal”
Very enjoyable holiday. No problems with the hotel despite some internet reviews. I simply made sure the booking was correct at the point of check-in and all went well. No need for the Portugese langauge on the island as EVERYONE speaks excellent English; although courtesy suggests that we as visitors try a little. Good weather, in spite of the locals saying it was terrible. We used all of the facilities on the rainy day - Very good as well. DO NOT eat evening meals in the hotel as they are over priced, uninspired and GOOD options are within 400-600M of the front door. Highly recommend the Tivoli.
“Everything we wanted”
We are normally exploring tourists who go off at 100mph. This time we decided we needed to chill. Rest, relaxation, swimming and generally pampering were our priorities. The hotel was exactly what we wanted. Friendly staff, excellent room with a view of the sea and the pool to while away the hours while we were reading. Service was also excellent, the breakfast buffett was brilliant as was the rest of he food we ordered during our stay. The location was also terrific for the days we had bursts of energy and needed to explore the island. The health club also had the indoor pool, jacuzzi, turkish bath and sauna. It also had an extensive gym for people more energetic than us.There are also many restaurants around the area serving good quality food when you feel like a change. Altogether a brilliant hotel and we will return in the near future.
