Our trip destination was to watch the Commonwealth Rowing at Strathclyde Park. The selection of Moorings was due to the proximity to the park. How fortunate for us that Moorings also proved to be exemplary from staff to room. No request was too great or small for the staff to comply, from area shopping and suggestions for dinner to helping procure an extra room close to ours for an unexpected last minute relative.
Built in 1891 as a private home, the beautiful main building was later extended and upgraded for commercial use. The hotel's …More
A smiling face at reception on arrival, room was ready and was clean tidy and had a large queen bed. We just had the standard room and couldnt fault it. We stayed for 2 nights and ate in the hotel on the first night. We had a family wedding the following day but before we left we had an all you could eat buffet style breakfast. The hotel arranged a taxi for us and made sure we had a number for our journey back to the hotel. If I wanted to be picky I could say I missed the biscuit on the hospitality tray as I had been looking forward to some shortbread. All the staff were polite and nothing was too much trouble, I would definitely go back. We didnt use the gym, pool or other facilities but we didnt go for that. The rooms were warm and the heater in there was sufficient.
Just stayed one night and was very pleased. I used it as I was at BioCity the next day (which is just up the road). Off road parking.
Nice friendly people and just what I needed including the WiFi (other chains please not free WiFi is a requirement!).
Good tasty breakfast well cooked.
What more do you need. If you are visiting the east side of Glasgow or BioCity then book it.
Everything was perfect, down to the home made cake in the room. It's handy to Glasgow and Edinburgh and would suit anyone who wanted to stay away from the hassles of staying in the centre of the city but still wanted to be within reasonable reach. Marg was very welcoming and warm.
The house is modern and the facilities are up to date and excellent. Avoids the quaint but inconvenient features of the B&Bs close in.
The views across the working farm are beautiful.
Would come back.
