“Fabulous find”

I stayed here in April 2008 based upon 1 review which was good. However when I got there I was very pleasantly surprised. The apartments were spotlessly clean and were of good condition in a lively area just a few footsteps from the nearest metro stop. The staff were all friendly and spoke good English. There is a breakfast available there at a charge however we never used this service so I am unable to tell you about it as we used our on facilities. There is a supermarket right next door where there was anything you needed.

“Highly recommended”

Conveniently positioned two stops from the Old Town and extremely close to the nearest metro and bus services (Lyon's public transport system would take a lot of beating). In addition, there is a supermarket positioned next door, useful for stocking the fridge. Staff were polite and helpful. Excellent storage space, flat-screen tv, great security and separate toilet/bathroom are four other points which impressed me. The kitchen was stocked with basic items and we would have been happy to wash plates etc for re-use, but no cloths/washing liquid etc were available and rinsed crockery left to drain was not replaced. I would certainly recommend this 'hotel' and will return - taking with me a couple of 'j cloths' a small bottle of washing up liquid and some coat-hangers!

“good hotel indifferent staff”

the hotel was well situated very close to a metro station and with a safe feeling " local community" with a wide choice of bars and restaurants. the room was comfortable. the down side was the indifference of the reception staff on arrival and departure. we had a car and there is only s/t on street parking in the area which restricts you significantly during the day.

“I would go back!”

The perfect place for a couple of days. Thanks to the public transport system, you can get anywhere, and it doesn't cost the earth. The area is safe, a supermarket is next door and Valmy metro station is opposite the entrance. The kitchenette is well-equipped and there is free wi-fi. If I go back to Lyon, I'll definitely stay there again!

“All good, but for one thing”

This hotel is generally a good value. The apartments are well apportioned, functional, but not stylish. It is well located, very close to the metro and has a Monoprix nearby for groceries. My main problem was with the noise level from the street. I don't know whether this was due to the fact that my room faced the street or whether it occurs throughout the property. The traffic noise was quite strident, as was the noise from a nearby bar and passerbys.

“Not my idea of a hotel.”

I was only at this hotel for an overnight stay. This hotel is better suited for a weeks stay as it has a couch, small kitchenette with cook top, frig, microwave, sink, etc. The TV had only one English speaking channel, CNN. I needed a wake up call so called reception at 2 pm on Sunday and it was closed and I was told I could not get a wake up call. There was no clock in the rooms and I had to be up at 3 am for a taxi. I did not get a good nights sleep to say the least. I also missed the "free breakfast" and never even saw where it would have been served. The reception area consisted of a desk behind sliding garage like doors that could close. This hotel is more like apartments than a hotel. It is in a noisy party of town. The bar/eating establishment next door had only men inside and out on a Sunday. I would never stay here or recommend it to anyone. I very was very unhappy about this choice.
