On arrival immediatley made to feel welcome by the staff who were all friendly and helpful for the length of our stay, we were allowed to settle and get a drink or two before being shown to our room. The room was small but clean and enough for two people, lovely clean bathroom and good working shower. They had kindly reserved a table for us to eat for the evening which they do for all guests so no worries about food. The food itself was by and large locally sourced and was very good ( have been to plenty of inns in the past and this was at the top as far as taste concerned, enough to thank the chef). Had a very enjoyable evening itself in the bar good ales and the locals were very welcoming, enough to be one of the last to leave. Sleep wise both had a good nights sleep, maybe one or two noises through the night (fans or air conditioning) but nothing to spoil your slumber. Breakfast in the morning was good and plentiful and no rush to pay your bill or leave, all very relaxed. So overall I would recommend a visit to a lovely kentish village and a wonderful Inn (we both shall return again).
We stayed at this hotel for just one night as a stop-over before catching the Eurotunnel the next day & we were thrilled we chose it. Unfortunately we were very delayed due to horrendous traffic jams on the M25 so we missed dinner so our stay therefore felt a bit rushed, we didn't spend nearly the time relaxing we had anticipated. However, when we finally arrived, the first thing that was obvious was the friendly cheerful welcome from the staff that made us feel comfortable & at ease straight away. The room was lovely, nice decor & everything you needed inc flat screen tv and tray with water, usual tea, coffee, hot choc & biscuits etc. The bed was made up with really nice linen & was super comfy. We had a few drinks in the bar before retiring - it had a lovely atmosphere, it was late as other diners were finishing their meal & staff were preparing to clear and get organised for the morning. The décor in the bar was nice - light and airy, modern & traditional. The manager even popped over to chat, sympathise over our awful journey and offer sandwiches if we wanted as we hadn't eaten, we were too tired & just had crisps but the offer was kind nonetheless. Next morning we more than made up for it with a fantastic breakfast - nice hot strong tea, full English with top-notch quality ingredients and plenty of it. The morning staff were a totally different bunch to the ones from the night before but were equally lovely - we will definitely return to this wonderful place.
Very enjoyable stay. A little far from Dover for walking into, definitely need transport. Bus service close and easily accessible tho...and Crabbel Hill Village very easy walking distance. (One route does have a bit of a hill and is poorly lit at night, but very pretty in the daytime)

apart from the view it had little going for it. the bedroom was a nice size but only one upright chair no glasses, no hairdryer, no soap in the dispencers which were dirty underneath, no place for your case apart from the floor or bed. television was tiny and you could not see this from the bed nor hear it. very disappointing compared to other hotels/pubs for the same price. would not recommend this.
