Nice facility next to a lush marshland on the Nile. Incredible scenery and sunset. Nice swimming pool and facilities. The restaurants had good food and offered good value. Fairly centralized and close to monuments. The business is very soft and I hope visitors will return to Egypt, which I felt was very safe.
Gardens and pool beautiful.would recommend garden view room as tranquil and quiet.NIle view lovely but noisy.Hotel has the atmosphere of bygone days decked with exquisite old furniture.Felt protected and safe within hotel grounds.Staff attentive but not overbearing.Ate in hotel for all meals and ate from the local cuisine menu ,drank local wine and were pleasantly surprised at how cheap the bill was.A meal including alcohol was roughly $75 for two.ROoms air conditioned, linen clean and rooms cleaned daily.Recommend don't stay anywhere else in Luxor.Magic.
Clean, comfortable & modern. Somewhat secluded, but only a 5 minute drive from the touristic hot spots, it is a nice refresher from a day in town. Food is good & facilities as you'd expect in a Hilton. Had a great time in Luxor & just hope there would be more tourism to support them as the hotel was practically empty & all to ourselves.
This is the fourth time that we have visited this hotel. This time we stayed for 10 days at the beginning of November and found all the staff to be as friendly and helpful as on previous occasions.
Our room was a superior room with a large balcony and lovely view of the Nile. and we would recommend Nile view rooms if available.
It is a shame that occupancy of Luxor hotels is low as there are no problems in that part of Egypt.
There was a little bit of hassle out in the streets but once you leave the main tourist road everyone leaves you alone, and you can't blame the taxi drivers, felucca owners, etc as they are only trying to make a living in difficult circumstances.
We will return again to Luxor and the Steinberger.

Excellent hotel and will be staying there again for certain. This was our fifth stay and the standards are top notch and have been maintained continuously over the years. The staff cannot do enough and are always ready to help in any way they can.
At first we made the mistake and booked at The Queens Hotel. It was so horrible we rebooked to this hotel and it was just wonderful. The staff, the location. Right on the Nile and I thought their floating pool on the Nile was just awesome. This is a very safe location and we had a Wonderful Driver the whole time: Hassan Mousaa Youssef
Breakfast Buffet(included in the room cost) was very nice and so was the dinner (surcharge) but worth it.
We stayed in the Old Winter Palace just for one night at the end of trip to Luxor - my wife had been working on an excavation on the West Bank so we were staying over that side. Staying in the Old Winter Palace with its grandeur of bygone times was the perfect ending to the trip - especially for my wife - living the life of an Egyptologist like Howard Carter! The Nile facing room was beautiful - watching the sun setting over the Theban Hills - truly magical! We look forward to coming back and staying for longer - as it is a special hotel, beautiful gardens, elegant surroundings and wonderful staff. The perfect hotel in every sense!

Only stayed for 2 nights, couldn't fault the resort. Lovely room, pool and gardens, very good breakfast. Excellent value for money, would definately stay there again. Very sad to see very few guests as Luxor deserves better.
