I expected much more from a Hilton Doubletree property. Good minibar but no ice. I called the front desk to ask where the ice machine was, they said they would send some up from the restaurant (no ice machine in the hotel) but no one ever did. Bed was adequate although mattress was very soft. Good business center but by the minute charges to check in for flight the next day and additional charges for the paper to print out the boarding passes. Very disappointing from a supposed 4 star hotel, which in my opinion it was not. I do not say this lightly as I travel extensively throughout the world both in my primary job and my part time travel agent duties.
“a few things to know in order to enjoy this hotel”
The hotel itself is excellent, with good price and super buffet breakfast for free. The location should not be a problem. You just take the number 5 bus to the end of the line, right in front of the railway station. A taxi costs at least 25 euro. The hotel does not tell you on its website which bus to take and how convenient this is, nor does Google map. Even the staff at the railway station do not know how to take the bus to reach the hotel. I got the info from a bus driver. There are no cheap eating places nor any convenience stores nearby, so if you want to save on food, better buy some food before going to the hotel, where a hamberger can cost around 20 euro. You might as well buy the 25 euro dinner buffet. If you want to stay in Luxembourg for at least 1 day, buy the 4 euro transit ticket good for 24 hours, which can be used for railway and bus within the whole country.
“dated interior, expensive internet but good cousine and friendly staff”
The hotel is located bit far from the centre (15 min. ride on the bus or hotel shuttle). If you are looking for quiet and relaxing place - it is your type. As I was there they just got their Hilton contract terminated and got rebranded for DoubleTree.
“Fijn hotel voor een goede prijs”
Perfect hotel voor een weekendje weg. Makkelijk parkeren. Voor internet op de kamer moet je wel betalen. Eten in restaurant in het hotel is erg prijzig, voor minder kan je elders veel lekkerder eten. Maargoed, dat was dan ook het enige minpunt.

El hotel a pesar de estar un poco alejado del centro, está muy bien comunicado con la linea 5 (dirección parc d`europe). Por relación calidad precio es muy bueno, a pesar de ser un edificio construido hace años. La piscina increíble y el sauna. El desayuno es muy bueno a pesar que si lo quieres tomar en fin de semana entre 9 o 10 am, tendrás que esperar un poco porque la cafetería es pequeña. En general a aquellos que prefieran el confort por la cercanía al centro, y no les complique mucho esto del autobus, es el sitio ideal. En luxemburgo, los hoteles son caros, por tanto por el precio que reservamos frente a la oferta hotelerea, la opción es buena.

Je m'étais laissé tenter pour la piscine, de ce point de vue là, pas de problème. Hotel très propre, bien que vieillissant. De même le petit-déjeuner est très sympa. Mais deux petits soucis: - Il faisait plutôt frais dans la chambre à coucher, et pas moyen de compenser avec la seule climatisation réversible. Cela n'a pas aidé mon rhume naissant. D'où mon avis très négatif concernant le confort de l'hotel. - On a essayé de me facturer des petits-déjeuners qui étaient inclus dans le prix de la chambre. Bref, je n'ai pas testé beaucoup d’hôtels à Luxembourg même, mais j'ai eu l'occasion d'en tester pas mal en Europe, toutes gammes confondues, et celui-ci est plutôt dans la catégorie déception en terme de rapport qualité-prix. Rien de dramatique au point de refuser une bonne affaire au moment des réservations, mais à prix égal, on doit pouvoir trouver mieux.
“Rustig gelegen en dichtbij centrum”
Voor een weekendje Luxemburg-stad wilden we niet teveel geld uitgeven aan de overnachting. Helaas zijn de hotels in het centrum peperduur en normaliter is het Hilton ook erg duur. Met een actie van Expedia was het nog enigszins betaalbaar maar wel exclusief ontbijt dat 26 euro p.p.p.d. kost!! Absurd bedrag natuurlijk, dus het ontbijt hebben we niet in het hotel genuttigd. De omgeving was erg rustig maar verder niet ontdekt, we ging vrienden opzoeken die in de stad wonen. Met de bus nr 5 ben je in een 15-20 minuten in hartje Luxemburg en met de taxi ben je ook in minder dan 10 minuten bij het hotel. Bus is erg goedkoop, 1,50 p.p. voor een enkeltje, taxi is erg duur 25 euro (wel nachttarief). Eigen auto konden we gelukkig gratis parkeren op eigen terrein. Kamer was ok, wel hopeloos gedateerd, maar schoon en netjes. Personeel was erg vriendelijk. Kortom prima hotel voor deze actieprijs, maar anders niet het geld waard. Maar ik denk niet dat je een goedkoper alternatief kunt vinden als je dichtbij het centrum wil verblijven.
“Prima hotel in Luxemburg-Stad”
Wij boekten dit hotel voor een lang weekend en hebben dit als zeer prettig ervaren: mooie kamer met dito badkamer, goede bedden, uitstekend ontbijt-buffet en vooral vriendelijk meertalig personeel. Voor de rokers: in de bar op de eerste etage mocht worden gerookt. Het hotel ligt buiten het centrum van de stad in een zeer rustige en groene omgeving, maar parkeren is geen probleem en de bus stopt op 200 m.
