“good locality”
Hotel was clean, but the rooms were a bit small. breakfast was good and the locallity of the hotel was very good, near to luxenbourg city centre and train station.
“Disappointed”
Initially had to circle the block where the hotel was as the hotel parking was not clearly visible. Eventually had to hover outside hotel while one of us went in to ask about the parking. It was lucky that we had a small car as getting in and out of the underground car park was extremely tight to the extent where carpet had been taped to the walls to prevent any scrapes! We also had the last of about 6 spaces. Reception staff were polite but a bit cold, certainly no friendly welcome. We had booked a double and with a holdall each there was no remaining floor space in the room. Very small bathroom in which we found a centipede type insect in the morning! Surrounding area looked to be a bit like Soho with strip bars and it was loud in the room until quite late even with the windows closed. The hotel is about a 20-30min walk from the main squares in the city centre. The positives were air conditioning and the breakfast which was very comprehensive. Tea and coffee was also available for free all day from the reception area. I would look elsewhere if I ever wanted to return to Luxembourg.
“Good hotel; Good location; Neighborhood a bit dodgy”

“Sketchy area, but close to everything”
Hotel is located on Rue de Joseph Junck which is directly across the street from the train station, so perfect from an access perspective. Don't let the surrounding establishments ("Night Club", "Strip Tease", "Insomnia Cafe") deter you -- I had no problems or hassles and I was traveling solo and never felt uncomfortable. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and the amenities are excellent -- computer with Internet access, bar and coffee lounge (which doubles as the breakfast room), and a cute little outdoor patio. Front desk staff spoke English very competently and were always quick with a smile when I came and went. Not surprisingly, my room was quite small but it spared no comforts and I slept well, despite being two doors away from the elevator (I never heard it). If I were traveling with another person, I would want a larger room, but for one it was perfect. All in all, I thought this hotel was great value for money and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to friends.
“Great location to train station”
My son and I booked a room there for two nights. The room was clean, the breakfast was ok, the beds were fine and the location was acceptable. The size of the room was very cramped. However, for the price considering Luxembourg, I'd stay there again. Supermarket around the corner and many bars, restaurants, and the train station close by. About 15 minute walk to the center of town.
“Great location for city centre - would go back”
The Mercure rooms are very small but very well appointed. WIFI throughout, more amenties than you would expect for a hotel of this standard. The decor of our room was faultless and the bathroom although small, spotlessly clean. Good breakfast. Unless you have a very small car, consider parking your car elsewhere (did notice a public car park very close by), we had great difficulty parking our Renault Clio as the access is very narrow. Bonus side is that the car park is extremely secure. Either side of the hotel is a Strip Club and a Pole Dancing 'Club but neither caused us any problem and although street busy both at night and daytime the double glazing was extremely efficient and totally blocked noise. Short pleasant walk to the Old Town and sights. We would return to this hotel as it met all needs for our trip.
“In the center, but not actually...”
The hotel was remodeled, but the rooms are really very small. The staff is very helpful and makes you feel confortable. It is OK for the price you pay. The location - close to the train station is not actually the city center. You have to walk (but not much) to reach it.
“Nice but very small”
The folks at the front desk were very nice and helpful. The location is great. We walked a couple of blocks from the train station and were here. The city centre is a 15 minute walk. But...and I travel a lot. The room was the size of a large closet. We could not even open our bags. Breakfast, which is included was delightful. I would recommend this for a one night stay to rest up. For a longer stay , choose another place.
“Good value for money”
Also, we needed to depart early on checkout day and the front desk person who also did the breakfast buffet allowed us to partake with some food prior to the 630am start time....cudos for this.
“Very Pleasant Stay”
The folks at the front desk were very helpful in getting us settled. When the WiFi would not connect, he worked with me and my computer until it did. They were very helpful in recommending nice restaurants within walking distance and in finding when and were there were church services on Sunday morning. When the elevator was being serviced, they offered to carry our bags for us.
