Great overall value and amenities
While not a new property, there is a converted effort to make it comfortable and clean. The grounds are expansive with impalas frequently eating grass and roaming the well groomed areas. Very nice playset for kids in an African theme. Friendly staff and location is central enough to be useful to most in Lusaka. Good family or business stay hotel. Prices are reasonable and the staff at the massage/salon are superb.

Safari feel close to the city
Have stayed here before with my son on a fishing trip and it has a sort of safari feel about it. As I stood by the pool this morning in the sun, listening to crickets and watching the elan graze in teh local garden, it felt rather relaxing. The staff is attentive and kind. When I had a request to clean my floor in room it was dealt with quickly and efficiently. The building and rooms are a bit tired but it balances with the remote feel close to the city and close to the airport. Their pick up fee could be a bit lower but again it is efficient and staff helpful. Would return here vs other places due to the relaxed feel. Gym and massage facility also available.

I have stayed here many times but I think this was the most disappointing. Though we requested rooms on the inside of the hotel we were given rooms on the road side of the hotel. There was an air conditioning unit running on and off all night. I was also asked the absurd price of 340kwacha for four bacon sandwiches because we wanted an early start. The staff in general are good though.

Cresta Golfview Lusaka - Zambia
I was pleasantly surprised with the Cresta Golfview Hotel in Lusaka, Zambia. The hotel is not new or modern in anyway. There is nothing out of the ordinary and nothing to write home about in terms of the room, the hotel itself , the restaurant and the meals. It is well maintained, very neat and clean, and the staff are extremely courteous and helpful. The rooms are quite small, and the bathroom is very cramped, but everything works, its clean and perfectly fine if you staying for a couple of days on business. The restuarant is quite spartan in terms of furnishings, and there is not much variety on the menu. The food was average and the servicing sizes quite big. All in all fair value for money. The breakfast buffet was quit limited in terms of choices, however more than adequate to cover most peoples needs and tastes. Free Wifi is available, and worked quite well during my stay. The hotel is quite conveniently located on one of the main roads, with the shopping malls of East Park and Manda Hill within a short drive away. However getting into town form this location can be quite challenging due to the very heavy traffic and road works.

This is not the first time I have stayed here and my return for two nights in march and another in April shows my like for the place. Alice in reception is a beautiful welcome upon arrival and others of the staff are also good. Patson in the restaurant is one that springs to mind. The bar could do with a bit of attention as could the restaurant but apart from that the food is good and the beef cold. My only real complaint would be one I made before. There are to many staff hanging around in the corridors in the afternoon supposedly cleaning but shouting to each other along the lengfh of the corridor. Not good when trying to sleep after a long flight. All in all I like the Cresta.

Convenient and clean hotel
Room very spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast not good for the price - no buffet as too few customers so no choice on hot breakfast.

Disappointing stay at Cresta Golfview Hotel.
Check-out was very slow. Room was OK, but the shower was a disaster. The shower curtain was not plasticized and the shower head partly clogged so the water spurted up and leaked all over the floor and into the room and doorway. Very unpleasant after a long day of traveling. I should add that we were only at this hotel overnight between two flights, so did not have time to look at the grounds which looked appealing on the website.

Not quite good enough
The Cresta Golfview has similar room rates to much nicer hotels in Lusaka. Although the property is beautiful, much of the interior is dated and the staff were quite sub-par. Made an Expedia booking and prepaid, but the front desk staff couldn't find the booking details and were quite unpleasant about it. They made me feel as if I had done something wrong to cause their frustration (e.g. eye-rolling, deep sighs, etc). Overall it is a pretty decent hotel with some really bright points by Zambian standards, but this kind of poor service was a far cry from what I experienced at some of the other top-tier Lusaka hotels.

The food was great, especially that they had local dishes on the buffet. The breakfast buffet however did not have any cold salads. The room and linen were clean and staff were friendly. However I felt "cheated" because in the review I read prior to booking, a customer complained about load shedding and the manager replied to say they have bought a generator and so that problem was over but that was not true. The generator they have only powers the lobby area and one light in the room but cannot power the ACs (temperatures were about 33 degrees when i checked in) nor sockets to charge electric gadgets.

Decent and safe hotel near airport
Contact hotel directly and they'll send their minivan to the airport to collect you - 80ZKW (about £5 GBP at time of stay). Rooms large and comfortable, mini gym was a bonus but not air conditioned. Good range of food at breakfast and very helpful staff. Load sharing meant that power was out overnight until 5am so bring a torch if you're likely to wake up overnight. Pool area clean and well maintained with iimpala grazing among the rooms. My room was to the side and overlooked the pool and was very quiet. Good security with 24hr guard at the gate. Not 5* but very good for the money and perfectly adequate.

The hotel was very reasonably priced and I got what I paid for. Nothing particularly special about the hotel. It is a bit dated but adequately clean and fine for an overnight stay if not seeking too much comfort. The hotel is conveniently located to the airport.

A wow location
The campsite was perfectalthough the tents could do with a table to keep things off the floor. The beds are quite short but very comfortable. The location is ideal and the 'adventure service' has very reasonable prices for a wide range of activities such as fishing, safaris, sunset cruises and s of more extreme experiences. Some people brought their own breakfasts and ate in the cafe area. The problem with breakfast was that they were understaffed so everything was running out. It was replaced eventually but then something else would be finished. If you ahve plenty of time its fine though

Serious mold in the bathroom! Though they did clean most of it when i requested. Overall not a good room for the cost, but Lusaka can be pricey. Don't get conned with the non-breakfast rate looking like a good deal - they want K115 for a very average buffet, and there is no cheap/continental option.

Being in Lusaka, I was not expecting this hotel to be particularly fantastic, however this was well located only 20 - 30 minutes from the airport. The rooms were ok and clean, the pool was good, although did not have time to use it. The grounds are very impressive and having Impala's around you whilst eating breakfast was an added bonus. Breakfast was good and included in the booking. Overall I would use this hotel again.

The location close to the airport was great and the hotel is set in quiet grounds with resident impala and a great pool. It is quite expensive for the grade of hotel but the staff are very helpful and keen to remedy any inadequacies with the accommodation. Service in the restaurant is pretty slow but the staff are all very engagin and welcoming.

We chose the hotel for its location and stayed there on 3 separate occasions. The hotel is clean and welcoming though on our 3rd night there we were initially put in to a room that was clearly not ready. The charming staff did then, without prompting, allow us a late check-out at no charge and were most apologetic. The setting and grounds are attractive and quiet with a resident herd of impala. We ate at the restaurant one night and the food was not great and the service really slow but again the waiting staff were very friendly. I would say that given the rather dated decor and occasional lapses of service, the price was rather high.

For the money it was ok
I am a USA physician, I am a platinum member of Delta Airlines. I fly a lot and all over the world. I stay at a lot of hotels monthly. Compared to USA hotels, this hotel, like most Zambian hotels are substandard, meaning, the hotel needs fixing up, things dont work that should work, etc. There is a gym here but it is only a single all in one machine and a few cardio and few dumb bells, thats it. The food was ok, the price of the food less than I expected, I stayed a half day longer and they only charged me $30, that was nice, they helped get taxi for me and although I was the only white man there and got lots of staring everyone was polite to me. There is a very nice looking pool here but it was freezing, The room is small. The internet worked in the room, no problems signing on and staying on. I have stayed at the Radisson in Lusaka and liked it much more than this Golfview but the Golf was $150 per night and the Radisoon was $250. The water pressure in the shower was weird, ti would almost die then come back with explosive pressure then die down again, it made it a little difficult to shower. The bed was suppose to be a king but Im sure it was a queen. No peep hole at the door. There is safe but I couldn't get it to work and it was so small that your laptop will not fit inside of it.. There are wedding here daily by the pool so if you are there in your bikini you could suddenly and without warning get invaded by many ppl.
