“A modern oasis in medieval perfection”

This was a very pleasant place to stay. It was fully air-conditioned and returning to the room after a hot day sight-seeing enabled us to cool down before returning to the centre of Lucca for a meal in the evening. The staff were all very polite, pleasant and welcoming. The room was large enough to comfortably accommodate three single beds. The bathroom was modern and clean and shower gel and towels were replaced daily. It was also constructed to accommodate someone who uses a wheelchair. The variety of dishes available at breakfast was wide, with provision for cooked and continental breakfasts. There was also a good selection of fruit, breads and cakes. We originally accessed the hotel by way of a very busy dual carriageway, but there is an alternative route which runs parallel to this and which is quiet and pleasant. Although the hotel was close to the dual carriageway and next to a MacDonalds, and our room on the ground floor overlooked these, noise from these was not an issue and we were not disturbed. We all agreed that we would very much like to return to Lucca and would certainly use this hotel again.

“Good hotel on the outskirts pf Lucca”

Modern hotel about 20 minutes walk into the centre of town. Hotel staff helpful and located just off the main road to Lucca. Great place to leave the car and explore on foot.

“Comfortable stay”

Modern hotel conveniently located close to the expressway but at some distance from town centre, railway station and bus terminus. Received an excellent welcome from friendly and helpful reception staff. Smallish but comfortable room with all mod cons including clean, shiny toilet facilties in classical style. Good shower but no bath. Breakfast room/restaurant very comfortable but breakfast adequate rather than imaginative and staff rather dour. City walls a good 15 minutes walk from the hotel but this never seemed excessive as the route was along an attractive thoroughfare (San Concordia). Useful local facilties including a Macdonalds next door, a new supermaket round the corner and a fine local restaurant, Bar Al Viale, just a few minutes away from the hotel. Railway station about 10 minutes from the hotel. We enjoyed a day cycling round Lucca on bikes hired from the hotel. Overall a most enjoyable stay.

“Happy to return”

Very comfortable hotel, would have no hesitation in returning if we return at a later date to the area. The staff more than friendly and helpful especially when my wife took ill as we were checking out, helped call an ambulance and said we could keep the room for as long as we needed it.

Fab hotel. Very nice room with air con, tv, lovely bathroom. v . cheap for what it was . Only hang-up that is was just off main rd (Italian motorway) so hazardous if on foot.

“Spot on”

Clean, modern, helpful service, 15 min walk from Lucca, 5 min to large supermarket. We stayed one night on the way to pisa so its motorway location was fine.

good location with a car. 15 mins walk to town otherwise. nice hotel and breakfast but air condition didnt work well and last day not at all throughout the hotel

“Conveniently placed to visit Luua when touring Tuscany.”

Modern ,clean,in convenient location.We stayed in a triple room which was not a good idea.All such rooms were on ground floor.2 out of 3 beds did not have a headboard,nor a wall edge.Window in room backed onto hotel car park and McDonalds. Great if you like to fall asleep dreaming and smelling big mac.We wishe to change to 2 rooms but they did not match expedia's room rate.

“Okay but far from city and no swimming pool”

The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the complimentary breakfast was fine. The downsides being 1)15 minutes walk from historic Lucca and 2) a disappointing lack of swimming pool for a 4 star hotel, considering that the place is sweltering hot most of the year.
