This was the 4th hotel we stayed in during our recent jaunt through Italy. It was easily the best. Modernized, free internet, great location. Also had bikes for guests which are very handy getting around Lucca.

Great place to stay. Thoroughly enjoyed our two nights. Needed more though to do justice to Lucca. Off street parking across from hotel (but tests the driving skills to get there). Lovely big room, great shower, wonderful breakfast. Terrific staff. One of the best places we stayed in in 4 weeks travelling round Italy.

Greeted with fresh homemade lemonade and peach pie!! All baking done on the property. Exploring the lemon, lime, olive trees was fabulous. Maria and her staff were so welcoming and accommodating. Great room, view, beds, etc.
highly recommend to all.
Fly into Pizza, take the train to Lucca and walk across the square to this hotel just outside the city walls. Two minutes and you're into town and a bus stop nearby to other towns, such as Barga and Bagna de Lucca.. A family run, friendly, clean hotel. Three ladies stayed overnight in a large three bedded room. Excellent breakfast, English spoken and helpful staff.
Wonderful hotel with all the modern conveniences in a picture perfect 15th century town. Private parking lot, breakfast, internet and use of bicycles all included with room. My wife and I definitely would return.
We booked a suite, expecting just a larger room, but were led to chambers encompassing a capacious sitting room, canopied bedroom, and large WC, all with 20-foot ceilings. The furnishings were old, but comfortable and appropriate to what really was a palace.
The hotel is perfectly located, on Lucca's main square, close to historical sites and shopping.

Hotel staff are exceptionally nice and helpful.
Building itself is interesting and hotel is located on the first floor of a larger block, originally the palazzo. The hotel itself has been decorated beautifully and is quite comfortable. Hotel staff are splendid and it was a pleasure to be there.
Bike hire and touring Lucca and it's splendid walls is a must.

My wife and two children had a wonderful stay at Al Tuscany. The location is excellent, right in the heart of Lucca and close to all of the city's attractions. This building gives you a flavour for how the locals live: the top floor is the bed and breakfast, with separate flats on other floors occupied by local residents. The facilities were great: clean, comfortable and felt like home. The highlight of our stay was the proprietor, Claudio, a gentleman of the old school who went above and beyond the call of duty to welcome our family to Lucca. This included tips on where to eat, brewing tea for us and chocolate milk for the kids, letting us use his card for a parking space at the lot near the station, and driving us to the parking area when our stay at Lucca was finished. I cannot recommend Al Tuscany or Claudio enough: so much nicer and more comfortable than staying at an impersonal hotel, it was the highlight of our trip to Tuscany.
