Excellent hotel

Best service we have had during our 3 month trip in SE ASIA! Very friendly staff, made us feel like family! Free shuttle bus into town, often on request at any time. Also free pick up! Good breakfast, clean and tidy rooms. Would reccomend this hotel to anyone visiting Luang Prabang.

Welcome to Laos

Posted 06-May-2014
Pros: The hotel is charming, all made of wood (teck, I think) walls and floors. Beautiful lobby and rooms
Location: The hotel is just a few minutes away from downtown, a short walk to Phusi market and to a must-see crafts centre/restaurant by the River (Ock Pop Tok)
The hotel owner and her son run this place and made us feel welcome from the start, with a welcome drink. They were very helpful in helping us figure out how to get things done in Laos: excursions, information etc. They have a bunch of sturdy bikes that they loan out to their guests free of charge. In just a few minutes of an easy ride, you're in the heart of the town. Even though public transport is very easy, I appreciated the bike. It made it easy to come back to the hotel mid-day. The hotel also offers frequent shuttles to and from downtown, so transport is no problem The room was clean. The bed comfortable. A groovy bath which was very welcome after a trek. I don't hesitate to recommend this place. Also, we were there during water festival, which was a place. The hotel owner even helped us get in on the fun by providing a couple of buckets!

They Go the Extra Distance to Make You Comfortable

Posted 07-Apr-2014 on Hotels.com
The downside was the hotel was further away from the market than indicated, but DO NOT let that stop you! The staff was extremely friendly and did everything to make us feel at home. Bikes usage is free, and the night market and downtown a quick 2 km away. A free shuttle service into town was available. Paul arranged a trip to the waterfall for us, and shared a wealth of knowledge about the area….all with a warm smile and great English. Would go back again.

Very nice stay in Luang Prabang

Posted 01-Apr-2014 on Hotels.com
We had two nights at the hotel. The staff must be the nicest in the city and even if it is 3 km from the center, this is no problem as there is a shuttle bus or bikes for free. The manager will let you know about the possibilities for day trips and we highly recommend the big waterfalls! Many thanks for a great time, we would definitely stay here again!!

A great experience in Luang Prabang

Posted 23-Mar-2014 on Hotels.com
Both mother and son owners made us feel very welcome during our stay. From the first day they provided us with information, asked about our day and went out of their way to help us, for example by personally dropping us off in the town centre when our tour started earlier than the shuttle bus timetable. The hotel itself is older but is kept clean. The free shuttle bus to and from the town centre, in addition to the free bike hire was very useful. While the location isn't as central as other hotels, the level of service was second to none, and we would definitely stay at Vangsavath again.

A very comfortable place of great hospitality

Posted 21-Mar-2014
Pros: I liked most the hospitality, the friendly attitude of the manager, the excellent breakfast, the free bikes and the committment to the customers.
Cons: Everything OK, but wifi could be better.
Location: All the movement ys downtown, which is less than a mile from Vangsavath Hotel. There is a shuttle several times a day, and also free bikes.
I had an excellent experience because I felt fully inside a very big tradiitonal Lao house, fresh and shiny, with lots of furniture, all the place decorated with dark wood. All was peaceful, as my room was far away from the entrance.

Fabulous service

The customer service was second to none - Paul and his mum went out of their way to ensure our stay was excellent. They always took time to chat with us and share local knowledge and information. Room was comfortable and breakfast was good. We used the free bikes to get in/out of town during the day which enabled us to explore more. The complimentary bus service was prompt - we only used it to get into town at night and caught a tuk-tuk back. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and when they build the pool next year, will make it even better.

Excellent clean and friendly hotel.

Pros: Family friendly hotel. The bed is excellent just like stay in 5 star hotel.
Location: It is close enough to the town that you can ride a bicycle to only takes 10 mins. It close to all the convenient restaurants and night market.
This hotel is very convenient close to the town. The hotel offers free bicycle and shuttle services. I found hotel room is very quiet at night and breakfast is ok. There are several options to choose from. There is a garden in the back that nice to walk through and peaceful. The room décor is traditional style with real nice wood design. We like it a lot. Staffs are excellent and helpful.

This hotel can best be described as "rustic". It's slightly out of town (a bit too far to walk) but they have a good shuttle bus service. The Owners were very helpful, giving us a personal briefing of sights worth visiting nearby. We would go there again.
