Pleasant and good value

Posted 16-Dec-2014
Staff were friendly and eager to help. Rooms decent, but there are some roosters nearby so bring earplugs. The free bike rental is nice, but the first 1/3 to 1/2 of the ride can be a bit scary since you're sharing the road with a lot of bigger things. As soon as you can cut over to the Mekong river and ride along it -- much more pleasant.

A good choice to get high value for your money

Posted 22-Nov-2014
Pros: Service, facilities, value for money, breakfast, cleanliness, calm
Location: Close to the hotel there is a temple and a local market selling basically everything. Restaurants are a bit scarse though.
Spent five nights on this pleasant hotel as a couple, more than actually planned from beginning. The hotel is situated some 2 km outside city centre, but the distance is actually contributing to the high score. It is a calm area and close to the local market where the people meet you with a smile and selling for the same rates as the local people. The hotel runs a free shuttle bus roughly once every two hours and have free bikes to borrow, so city centre is not hard to reach. They supply you with free breakfast buffet and Coffee/Tea and bananas during the day. English level of the staff is generally high and some speak it fluently, they are there to help you with whatever you need. One of the few cases of hotels where you can feel a genuine interest to make their customers fully satisfied. Generally we don't write reviews but had hard to resist this time. Our stay here was one of the nights a bit above our budget but we got so much value for the money spent and would definately recommend it. The only case we can think when you might consider something else would be if you want the live in the middle of the partying and get out every night, otherwise, this is a really wonderful choice!

Mooi hotel buiten het centrum

Posted 16-Nov-2014
Pros: Gastheer was heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam en spreekt erg goed Engels. Ontbijt was prima.

Great value for money hotel, suitable for families

Posted 10-Oct-2014
I stayed at this hotel for 10 days with my 14 year old son. The hotel is run by a lovely family who can not do enough to help you. The building is quite beautiful - lots of wood and polished floors throughout. Tea and coffee were available all day in the breakfast room, as were free bananas. The rooms are serviced daily and include free bottled water, shampoo and conditioner. TV is available in all rooms, as is free wireless. There is also a desktop to use if you do not have your own laptop or device. The hotel is about 2kms out of the main town - a straight walk which takes about 30 minutes. The hotel has a free shuttle service though if you do not wish to walk. We enjoyed walking into town, as we saw a lot of typical Lao life. Also, about halfway into town you come across Luang Prabang's main market (Phousi market) on the right and on the left (almost opposite) is the small laneway that leads to Op Pop Tok, a traditional weaving centre that also has a relaxing café where you can try silk worm poo tea and a range of delicious food. We also walked from the hotel to the UXO museum (took about 30 minutes). The free breakfast is excellent - pancake, French toast, omelette or fried egg, fruit and bread.

Friendly staff, spacious and comfort room

Posted 06-Oct-2014
Pros: Quiet and clean room, friendly staff, driver, shuttle service
Cons: rooms facing the main road are quite noisy due to motorbike so I cannot sleep well in the first night of arrival.
Location: night market and Phousi Mountain , dinner by the Mekong River
The hotel manager greeted me at lobby and make a quick introduction about the hotel and the city so to get me familiar the place easily. The hotel location is a bit far from the night market so you may need to get a tuk tuk or use their free shuttle service. I was upgraded to a much nicer room with jacuzzi and kingsize bed the 3rd night and the manager very nice to take me to the VIP bus terminal the next morning. Driver is very nice to drop me to the entrance of Phousi mountain so I do not need to find it myself. Thanks a lot !
