The hotel was perfectly placed for the main sights of Paris and was within easy reach of the metro system. The room we stayed in was spacious, comfortable and quiet and the staff lovely and friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and would recommend it to anyone thinking of visiting Paris.
The position of this hotel was perfect for access to all major landmarks and the area around it was great for food in the evenings after a hard day's sight seeing. Cafe de Relais two doors down did fabulous breakfasts to set you up for the day with brilliant staff. Cheaper than hotel breakfast.
Loved the location of the hotel - sobastopol metro station is literally fifty steps from the front door which links easily with all major stations. It is also next to a main street that features many restaurants, bars and great shopping. Follow the street directly down to the river and all the sights - louvre, royal palace, notre-dame. The hotel is in an old building across from a quiet park - ask for a room with a balcony at the front for a great view of old buildings - great for relaxing with a Bordeaux after a day around the city. The downfall of the hotel being old is that the walls are paper thin (at least on the 7th floor they were) - could hear everything next door. Ask for a quiet room (maybe it would work). Staff were great, comfortable and clean rooms, Internet worked, very tiny elevator if it's a concern, did not get breakfast so can't comment on that.
excellent treatment of hotel management and attendants, including giving us help regarding terrible expereiência we had at BP APARTMENTS.
I and my family definitely found the place for us to lodge in Paris.
We had a wonderful stay in the Hotel, which is in a superb location. The only downfall was the bar was far too expensive! This is a shame as a reasonable price of drinks between 9 Euros and 15Euros would bring more people into the hotel adding to the ambience of the beautiful courtyard and bar area.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others.
Close to all major attractions and Metro stop. We were 4 women traveling together and felt safe at all times. We really wished we had a mini fridge in either of the two rooms that worked. The last day there wasn't any hot water which was very disappointing.
Loved it! First it was easy to get from the airport to our hotel using a shuttle service. Our plane landed early in the morning and check-in was in the afternoon, but our hotel was kind enough to hold our luggage till check-in. When we did get our room the Hotel Scribe told us our room was upgraded at no extra cost and we did get free wi-fi in our room which was very helpful. One of the best reasons for staying at the Scribe was location. It was so close to everything like the Opera, The Louvre, Cathedral of Notre Dame, shopping, plus there are so many places to eat near by. The hotel restaurant was good, the food was excellent. If you wanted to use Paris's metro it was so easy to get around especially from our hotel, main metro stations were just around the corner. The staff at Hotel Scribe were helpful and kind and spoke good English. We would definitely go back to the Hotel Scribe.
A nice small hotel in a great and lively location. It's situated in the center of a 5 block long pedestrian zone, with lots of restaurants within a two minute walk. A potential downside is that the street is relatively loud until late at night. My wife and I enjoyed this, but if you won't be aware that we could clearly hear it in our street facing room.
By the Tuileries gardens on the Seine’s Right Bank, the Louvre museum dominates Paris’s cultural heart. Exclusive boutiques line Rue St-Honoré and Rue de Rivoli, and a shiny modern shopping mall occupies the old market of Les Halles. The 2nd is the finance and theatre district, containing the Bourse (stock exchange) and the Comédie Française national theatre. Châtelet–Les Halles station is the city’s biggest and busiest transport interchange.
