“Great hotel that was perfect for us!”
We stayed at the D Hotel in mid March for two nights and had a wonderful stay. The staff was excellent and incredibly helpful! Initially they couldn't find our reservation (it was under my middle name!?!). They checked us into our room so we wouldn't have to wait in the lobby while they sorted things out. They upgraded us to a lovely room looking out over the River Boyne and the old town of Drogheda which was charming. We also had to call the front desk when our flat screen TV would not turn on and one of the front desk crew got to our room about 5 minutes after the call! We ate dinner in the restaurant one night when it was pouring outside and it was very good. The D Hotel is right next to an indoor shopping mall which is an added bonus! The only suggestion we have would be to increase the lighting in the rooms. Our lights were very dim it was difficult to read.

“Good despite the snow!”
Good hotel, good atmosphere in the Bar area. Well located for Town facilities. Niggley little things like no battery cover on the TV remote let hotels down, its this attention to detail that's important. Would go back though and liked the location and view depsite the snow.
“Nice hotel, good shopping next door”
This hotel is nice. It is not fantastic, but it is slightly above average. This was the first hotel that we stayed in upon arrival in Ireland. Our plane had landed that morning in Dublin at 8:00 am, after flying all night from the USA. Needless to say , we were tired and jetlagged, but, even though the check in time was not until 3pm, they allowed us a very early check in(10:30am), which was very nice. The food in the hotel restaurant was good, the vegetable soup is out of this world. The service by the wait staff was almost non existent, I had to go up to the bartender and ask that someone please take our order(we had been sitting at a table for 10 minutes), and once the food was delivered, the server disappeared. I finally had to go back to the bartender and ask for the check and if he would like to be paid?........ The only other negative experience was the noise level in the alley outside our window from 0300-0530. A lot of shouting by obviously drunk people.Request a room on the river instead of the front of the hotel. Overall, it is a nice place, and I would definitely stay there again if ever in Drogheda again.
“Drogheda Experience”
We did some research on the D Hotel and learned that it was situated on the river with pleasant photographs to entice the tourist. On our arrival we found that the hotel shared car parking for guests with the general public where your ticket was validated in the morning. Reception staff were pleasant and our room overlooked the river and a builiding site. Unfortunately the views of the river were marred by the views of a deserted harbour and the accompanying graffiti. The room was large and comfortable with tea/coffee making facilities. Having spent less than an hour in Drogheda town centre which was devoid of any tourist attractions we decided to reserve a table for dinner in the hotel We did this at reception and later that evening went to the dining area only to be told that they had no record of our reservation and could not accomodate us until later in the evening. Despite our protestations the male staff member was dismissive and offered no assistance. He even blamed the reception staff for taking our reservation. The hotel is best suited to business clients and weddings and whilst it looks like a fairly new building ii is begining to show signs of wear and tear i.e. stained carpets and scratched furniture
“Great corporate hotel”
