“very enjoyable”
staff was very friendly and helpful
“Louisville Downtown Hampton Inn--Don't Go there”
I stay at Hampton whenever possible. I love the place as it is always clean, friendly and provides the services I need--especially internet access. This location was the absolute worst I have ever stayed in. The staff was amazingly friendly, but they just couldn't get the job done. From the quality of mixed beverages in the bar to the cleanliness of the room, to the electronic connection, this place needs to be redesigned. To be specific: Internet was as slow as dial up and failed often. It required a complete computer reboot on one occasion! With two travelers and two computers, it was not convenient to have one Ethernet connection per room and no wireless, except lobby. Guest services failed to provide enough towels & shower cap. Towels and linens need to be replaced as all seemed old and worn thin. Ice bucket not emptied on two days of 5. A sticky mark on nightstand was never removed. Probably still there. While there is not much you can do physically with a hotel, the rooms seemed very small, the elevator was amazingly slow, and the bathroom has rust stains and tiles repaired badly. Lobby was very nice.
“Very nice hotel”
This hotel was very nice and clean, front desk personnel were very helpful. Walls were a little thin between rooms. Someone coughed next door and I thought someone was in my room. Centrally located for our needs. Would stay here again.
“A very good stay”
The night I spent at the Hampton Inn was very good. I'll be back as soon as I can plan another trip back to Louisville. Clean rooms and hotel overall. Personnel worked great with all that I had asked.
“Not a bad place to stay”
This hotel is in the finishing stages of renovation. When we first got there we asked to be put as high up as possible. There are 8 floors and we were put on floor 4 which as soon as we got off the elevator had a very strong fresh paint smell which only got worse going into the room. I immediately went to the front desk and asked to be moved to a room on a floor that hadn't been painted quite as recently. They promptly put us on floor 7 which was much better. The room was very clean, typical small size, comfortable enough bed, good pillows. The hotel is just a few blocks walk from 4th street live which we thought was highly overrated. Very much a college hangout. We would have rcommended this hotel to friends but for one thing. The noise level was high. Every door in the place including the bathroom doors slam shut with a loud clicking sound. So as soon as people are awake around you, so are you, whether you want to be or not. When asked at check out how our stay was, I mentioned this as really the only complaint. They told me that in order to pass codes the doors have to slam shut to be sure a complete connection is made to properly close. My husband happens to be the operations manager of a commercial door company, and we knew that was only partially true. There are several ways to ensure proper connection and still get a quiet close. We will try another hotel when we go back.
“won;t go back”
breakfast is shocking
“Nothing around”
OK hotel, they are renovating so will be up to date. Room was average and a bit loud. Absolutely nothing around but luckily parking was free and easy to get in and out.
“Overrated”
The hotel room was very small and cramped. It had no refrigerator, and the coffee pot was on the computer desk. The bathroom did not even have an exhaust fan so the door had to be opened after a shower to air out the room and the mirror. The hotel lobby and floors below us were being remodeled so the only useable elevator was the service elevator. Next time I will make sure I stay at a Holiday Inn Express - the rooms are spacious and furnished comfortably.
“Great Place!”
From the moment you enter, it is very obvious that customer satisfaction is the primary goal of the staff at the Hampton Inn! Our room was comfortable and clean. The variety of food presented each morning for breakfast was terriffic and certainly above and beyond your typical "free continental breakfast." If the opportunity presents itself, I will not hesitate to stay there in the future.
“Nice Hotel”
The Mariott was extreemly nice. No complaints. I was there on business and in-order to save the business money, I stayed in this nice Mariott. If I was on a personal trip I would have spent extra to upgrade to a more upscale hotel in the area. Overall, great experience, clean, great hospitality, great location, wonderful business trip.
