“Business Travel”
I work for a non-profit organization and was challenged to find a cheaper hotel than was being offered for the conference "discount" rate. I will admit that I was nervous after reading some of the reviews, but I went for it anyways. I was attending a conference, so I wasn't in my room very often. I need a place to sleep, shower and store my things. The hotel was fine. Great location in downtown, close to all of the hotels and conference center. My room was clean and seemed to be updated fairly recently -- no flat screen tvs or anything, but it didn't remind me of the 80s. I was on the third floor and could hear some noise from the outside, but it wasn't too bad. The service was alright and there was a continental breakfast that I never made it to. There was a microwave and fridge in the room which was convenient. For my circumstances, this hotel suited me fine. If I was to travel back to Louisville, I would explore other options but would be open to staying again for business.
“Best Birthday Ever....”
We were very pleased with every part of our stay....and will go back again..
“nice place”
Very Nice
“Budget hotel, suited my needs”
In Louisville for GIE 2011. Hotel near 4th st entertainment, shuttle bus to show picked up across street. Bed was kind of saggy but I was so tired I slept ok. Need a couple toasters in breakfast nook. Couple staff I met were polite and efficient.
“Efficient, cheap, and perfect location !”
This hotel was just what we were looking for. We didn't need any bells and whistles, just some place to lay our head after a fun night in downtown Louisville. It was the a quick walk to fourth street live and affordable!
“It was ok, but I don't think we'll stay there next time”
I didn't realize how old this hotel is. Our room was clean enough and fairly nice for such an old building. The room was considered a non-smoking room, but definately smelled of smoke and there were burn holes in the bedspread. The hotel is right downtown and there was alot of traffic all night so it was VERY noisy. We had to pay $5.00 to park in the hotel parking lot so we wouldn't be towed but I was more worried about the car being broken into since we didn't have a window in the front of our room to keep an eye on things. Wi-fi was available, but good luck getting enough signal to actually connect. If you're on a budget & need to stay cheap, this will pass. We'll pay more & stay somewhere else next time though.
“Decent”
It's not the Marriott across the street, but it feels reasonably clean. The bed was comfortable. It was nice to have a fridge, a microwave, and a desk. And it was a good price for a downtown hotel. If you're really picky about your hotel, don't bother. But if you're looking to save money, this is an attractive option.
“If price is important”
Aesthetically unattractive, but perhaps you get what you pay for. One receptionist was clueless and borderline unfriendly, another one was very helpful. Windows don't open at all, not even a crack. There is no ventilation in the room, only an air condition unit that needs to run at all times, otherwise there is no air circulation and the room gets stuffy and smelly.
“Budget hotel next to the expensive towers”
Privately owned franchise of a chain, this doesn't have the luxury of the big chain towers next door and nearby, rather a more motel-like feel. In fact, with the big central parking lot, it IS a motel. Free continental breakfast & in-room coffee, microwave and fridge, well maintained, this is a fine and safe option for budget travelers. My only complaint was that there was a slight trace of smoke smell in my room. I didn't ask for a smoke-free room though, don't know whether they were offered (no ash tray in there, though).
“excellent budget motel”
clean room. nice staff. excellent location, good parking. continental breakfast and Papa Johns on site.
