“RIU AGAIN?”
Sante Fe has really nice and friendly people. It is a huge property. The hallways are all stone floors which make it very noisy. There is always someone working on something all the time. The grounds are perfect. We tried the steak house....so, so. We were not impressed. Our steak was raw. But they cooked it again. The Italian restaurant had a buffet of pasta, etc. and then served a beautiful steak. The hotel service people have not heard of real butter. They only have margarine. The food was good even though it is repetitive. We had the Garden View in bldg. 3 and it worked out fine. The bldg. 7 is a very active and noisy place. It is the only one with ocean views. Not worth staying in that building unless you are there to party all the time. I would not stay there again because there is constant noise from the maids and the gardeners and the guests walking and talking in the hallway.
“Excellent staff”
Good food, nice people, beautiful beach, what more do you want?
“would like to return next year”
The weather was great , the beach was beautiful. huge pools .good service ,good buffet food , the steakhouse restaurant was really good, played beach volleball and tequila water volleyball, my husband and i had a wonderful time at this hotel and plan to return next year .
“I will be back”
Very good vacation for my family.
“we had a very good time there...”
I was impressed with the maintenance, everything was very clean and everywhere you go there was someone either cleaning or fixing something...The people were very friendly and nice, a lot entertainment, good food... we had a very good time there. we paid a little more for a front view which was worth it.
“Excellent Experience!”
This was our first Riu visit. We traveled as a family, 2 adults and 3 teenage kids. The hotel grounds are immaculate. The staff was consistently friendly ad helpful. The accomodations were well above my expectations. We really enjoyed the activities schedule and the many ways to be active on the hotel property. The ocean was friendly for playing in for hours at a time. The beach is a bit coarse, but very pleasant to walk on none the less. Lots of open space to roam about on. The food is perfect for a busy, hungry family. We enjoyed the restaurants and buffets equally. Lots of choices, everybody was happy!
“impressive”
I would recommend RIU Santa Fe for all its amenities, all inclusive services, adult friendly and family friendly. I usually travel alone. Access to water great, comfort and convenience exceptional. One could walk to the city of Cabo San Lucas which I did, or take the bus. Food was great, nothing exotic just wholesome and plenty of it. Drinks available which included all drinks in room refrigerator which is really exceptional. However, my room was next to a neighbor who had many dogs that barked early in the morning, fighting as well. There was noise in the hall ways, children running around. Late night parties caused interrrupted sleep. Over all I had a great experience and would return to Los Cabos and the RIU in the future for the above reason.s
“Not for Families with School-age Children”
This is a great hotel for adults looking for fun in the sun. The hotel is beautiful, the location is great, and the alcohol flows. Unfortunately we were traveling with a 9 year old and a 14 year old, and it was not so great. There is a lot of drinking and lots of poolside entertainment geared for adults, some of which don't seem totally appropriate for kids. Also, while the hotel does have a kid's club, it is for very young children. The hotel offers nothing for older kids to do. We have stayed at other all-inclusive hotels where there are organized kid's activities in the pool such as volleyball, water polo, etc. with kids club counselors. There are crafts and activities poolside like painting pottery. Nothing like this at the Riu SF. Additionally, there is only Spanish language television and no movie rentals. There is no room service unlike other all inclusive resorts. We had fun in Cabo, and the hotel was lovely, but other hotel options are much better for families with school age children.
“Not impressed”
We had an ocean view room. The view was great. It was definitely worth paying extra. The room smelled like mold though. The bed was uncomfortable. The mattress was hard. I didn't like the pillows either. The food at the buffet was below average. The only meal I enjoyed was breakfast. It was good and consistent every day. They made a variety of fresh smoothies every morning. Dinner was not so good. There were a lot of things to choose from, but most of the things we tried weren't good. You can make reservations at one of the four restaurants they have. The best one was the steakhouse. We both had steak and it was really good. We also ate at the Mexican and Italian and that was no different from the buffet. I had chicken fajitas at the Mexican restaurant and it was the same as the one I tried at the buffet. Also, you have to make reservations early in the morning as the spots fill up fast. The drinks they made at the bars were good. All the guys that work there are really good. They definitely tried their best to make guests happy. Overall the personnel was nice and friendly. We did enjoy our vacation. The weather was great. The beach was beautiful. We'd love to go back to Cabo. I doubt we'll stay at Riu Santa Fe again though.
“Mixed bag”
