“Was great value for the money! Exceptional service by all staff”

Was great all around. Would go back again. Exceptional accommodations and helpful staff.

Area recommendations
If one likes to walk a lot then this is good. The main business and entertainment attractions are closer to the downtown area however and one should probably have a buddy to walk with at night.
Outdoors or beach
The beach is beautiful and only a short walk away. There is bus service for a very minimal charge to take you all around to the downtown areas of nightlife, shopping and the pier.

“Great hotel!”

I really enjoyed my stay at Quinta del Sol. I was about a 10 minute walk to Medano beach and about a 15 minute walk to the downtown nightlife. Overall, a very nice place to stay; inexpensive, clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The pool was very refreshing and well kept. I would thoroughly recommend Quinta del Sol. Very much a simple, affordable place to stay. Thanks for a great vacation!

I would recommend staying at Quinta del Sol or somewhere right on Medano beach.

“excellent budget hotel”

I booked the hotel based upon previous reviews, and felt that this hotel was everything I expected. Rooms were very clean, beds were fine, AC worked, and the facility was extremely well kept, security was always visible. I can't say enough about the staff, the ladies in the office were excellent, the rooms were clean, and if you needed something they were there to get it for you. Carmen, in the breakfast room was great. Yes, you have to walk 1/4 mile to the beach, maybe 1/2 mile to downtown, but the price of the hotel, and level of service I received far outweighed these "negatives" A great hotel, not just a budget hotel!

“Too noisy”

There were many great things about this hotel, but with the noise factor, people slamming doors, moving chairs in the room above us at 3:30 in the morning, it was a nightmare for us. We did not get sleep for two nights in a row, finally asked to be moved to an upstairs room but it was still noisy below us. The kids were running around and going in and out of the rooms below us until after 11pm. On the good side, the staff was wonderful, Front desk was awesome with directions, things to do an getting us extra pillows. The hotel was very clean and the size of the room was great. If only it was quiet, and I slept with ear plugs and a sound machine and was still woken up.

Area recommendations
This was great because it offered us the chance to walk downtown, once if not twice a day and back.

“Nice Hotel with friendly service”

This hotel is not 4 stars hotel but, clean and walking distance from marina to beach within 15 -20 min. Hotel has free wi-fi internet connection, break fast, in room safe (with deposit), little gym & pool. Terasa from front desk was very helpful with our activities. We books all the acitivities from mycabo and they booked schedules wrong time and could not reach them for reschedules. But, Terasa (hotel) fixed everything for us with new schedules for all the acitivities we purchased from mycabo. Room has small kitchen and ref in each room. Yes I would go back to this hotel.

Area recommendations
Fishing with solomar. We caught 160 lb yellowfin tuna. Took us 2 hours 45 min to bring the fish up in the boat. Best fishing ever. If you want to bring fish home, it cost you abut 1.50 lb (freeze & bag) and extra. Its' not cheap.

“Not impressed”

It is portrayed as more of a luxury hotel than it actuallyis. It is the same rank as a motel 6

Stay in a resort closer to the airport or the marina!
Getting around
Use the bus systems they are cheap and fun!

“Pleasantly surprised”

The Quinta was very comfortable and less than 10 minute walk to the hub of action. The room was a nice size and clean and grounds were manicured beautifully. Security was evident and provided sense of safety at all hours. Would definitely stay there again.

“Pleasantly surprised. :)”

In my opinion this hotel is the best value in Cabo San Lucas. Very clean facilities, a guard at the entrance, good room service, nice rooms and comfortable beds were a very welcome surprise from what we were used to expecting from most Mexican hotels in this price range. I will definitely stay here again when in Cabo. Probably the only downside was the distance to the beach, but that being said it is a cheap cab ride or a nice long walk to get there & the quietness and price more than makes up for that. It is also very close to a convenient store and Wal-Mart. A++

Area recommendations
If you can afford it, stay on the beach. But if cost is an important factor stay at this hotel.
Getting around
I would recommend renting a car. Most credit card companies will provide coverage for damages if all the amount is put on that card. That means you just need to purchase Mexican Liability Insurance at the car rental place (required by Mexican law). The liability insurance runs from 10-15 USD per day per driver. Most drivers do not adhere to the speed limits, but I felt safe driving there at all times. Probably one of the best places to drive in Mexico as far as congestion, safety etc... It is very nice to have the mobility of your own vehicle seeing as it is very expensive to use Taxi's or Shuttles.
Must see
Whale watching or Fishing for and afternoon or a day should be a must on your list. Just get out on a boat on the ocean and the neat wildlife will be all around.
Shopping
Shopping is just like in all other Mexican/Latin America tourist areas. The same things/prices and the same constant bombardment of solicitors.
Dining
Excellent dining abounds in Cabo. Everywhere you turn there is a "Ma and Pa" restaurant, and for the most part they are very clean and offer excellent service and food. Don't be afraid to eat at places that are off the beaten path, you will most likely not be disappointed with any locally owned restaurants for price and the quality of the food. I highly recommend Las Flores which is just up from the beach.
Outdoors or beach
Very nice looking beaches but very course sand (almost like little rocks OUCH). Water is a little cold for lounging around in when compared to the Caribbean side.
