“Loved it!”
Terrific hotel, great views, super nice upgraded room with granite kitchen & baths, and amazingly comfortable beds. Beautiful lobby with domed ceiling. Didn't get hounded to buy a timeshare, either! Hotel is about a 15 minute walk to town, and close to the Marina. Dinner at nearby Romeo & Juliet was wonderful, and romantic. Our only beef...they should have better outdoor gathering areas, with couches, firepits, etc. The Mexican fiesta dinner on the beach was terrific, and a value (included ALL you can eat and drink...tequila, mixed drinks, etc!)
“Definitely want to go back!”
Very nice & very conveniently located.
“it's a hotel”
Playa Grande is a fine resort, assuming you want the mega resort atmosphere. The food is serviceable, the drink specials are fantastic, and the pool at the Ridge is awesome. It's nearby downtown, so it's easy to get to downtown, but also has mostly everything you need. However, avoid room 1001 if possible. It sits directly above a maintenance area and they start work pretty early in the morning.
“Not Impressed”
The location is awesome and the hotel is beautiful. They do not like to give you towels or shampoo. You are only allowed one towel per person at the pool so I would go exchange it before and after shower and forget having wash clothes. The beds are very hard and the pillows are not good. We looked at the hotel this summer when we were there and the appearance is it's best quality!
“Already planning a return trip!!!”
What a fantastic resort!! It is so clean, has a ton of activities and a friendly staff. Our family stayed in a 2-bedroom villa in The Ridge that was large enough for 8 guests. The view from the beautiful terrace overlooking the marina was a little slice of heaven. The kids loved the water slide and all the activities at the main pool. I was a fan of the daily 2x1 happy hour and the Mexican Fiesta. The fiesta had to be the highlight of the trip!! The endless amount of food, drinks & entertainment were awesome but the best part was the crowd involvement. The activities staff is hands-down fantastic!! I'm already planning the next trip!
“Will be back”
This is our second year at Playa Grande and enjoyed the resort, have been to others we prefer this, it is close to town and the marina
“Cabo on a budget. Great Fall get away!”
The hotel was very nice for what we paid to stay there. The TV did not work and we paid $40 for wifi but only one of us could be on at anytime and in my opinion in todays day and age WIFI should be free!
“2nd visit - just as good as the 1st”
This was our 2nd visit to the Playa Grande, we were there exactly 1 year ago the 1st time. We found our 1 bedroom suite to have an excellent view of the grounds and the ocean. We were right on a great beach for walking or watching the incoming surf, - not a swimming beach though! The location is a short walk to the cantinas and restaurants of the Marina area as well as the shops and markets of the side streets. We will be returning to the Playa Grande.
“Beautiful, relaxing somewhat pricey”
Playa Grande was a wonderful experience after you got through the gauntlet at the front desk. Check in was slow (45 min wait ) with some drunk divas in line for aggravation, followed by a sit down with your adviser. Once settled the rooms were great and the staff friendly. meals are vastly overpriced and mediocre. Skip the Brigantine and the breakfast buffet altogether. Meals in town are 1/3 of the price and a short walk away. Fishing was awesome and we cooked in the room almost daily. Check out was painfully slow with our clerk looking dazed and confused for about 15 min with an extremely uncomplicated bill, our pick up driver was not happy. The time in between check in and check out was great
“Can't wait to go back!”
Wonderful experience, except for checking in. The man at the front office told us that our room was not ready. We were early and he could not give us the room number, but were going to be on the third floor facing the ocean. It turned out it was not third floor but the second and on the side of the building. We complained, but did not go anywhere. (We cancelled our scheduled presentation, time share, because of this). We decided to stay and not make a big fuss, the room was nice. Everything else was very good.
