“BEST HOTEL in CABO”
My husband and I travelled with our 3 year old twins. The rooms were immaculate. The kitchen allowed us to have drinks and snacks for everyone. If you have young children request a room by the pool/restaurant to minimize the steps. There are a LOT of steps but they really add to the ambiance and beauty of the hotel. The beach is magnificent and it is SUPER private. The food at the restaurant is delicious and the restaurant staff is second to none. My sons are still asking for Edgar, Lupe and Antonio. We did not have a car and were able to take the bus to both San Jose and Cabo. We only left the hotel 2 times because it was such a pleasure to be there. The pool has an area where young children who can't swim can wade in shallow water. When we got home my husband summed it up perfectly, "i don't know if we can beat that place."
“Great value”
Great value compared with other places in Cabo. Only downside was that there are what look like abandoned dirt lots on each side of the property. The bed was a little short for me and the air conditioner was hard to get much flow. Door was messed up. But that was it. Everything else was outstanding. I would stay there again at the current rates. Staff was very helpful as well.
“Excellent food, service, and location”
Many steps, but worth it for a great view, excellent food, and location near the best snorkeling beaches.
“Clean and Comfy, Would Stay Again”
My husband and I recently stayed here and thoroughly enjoyed just about everything during our stay. We found the staff very friendly and accommodating. Our suite was spectacular -- spotless and comfortable -- and we looked forward to coming "home" each night. The only thing we felt could be improved was the mattress: it was a bit too soft and sagged in the middle. Even though our suite was "garden view," we could see the ocean from our front patio and could hear the waves breaking all the time. We spent time at the pool, got a massage on the beach, and enjoyed the hot tubs with an amazing view. We ate in the restaurant a couple times and found the food to be up to par. The whole place was tastefully decorated, clean and tidy. There are a lot of hang out spots so you can find privacy among the other guests if that's what you're looking for. The property is long and narrow and does have a lot of steps so be sure you can handle them. You cannot swim at this beach so renting a car was key to be able to visit other beaches and get around town. Marbella is just about smack dab in the middle between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas so it's a convenient location if you want to explore both places. If we hadn't had our own car, we would have felt very trapped. Overall, we had a fantastic stay at Marbella and would definitely return.
“Needs a little updating.”
The place is nice. The location is great. The thing that bothered me was there were no toaster but there was a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. There was a gap under the hotel room door. The ocean was very rough here and not so further towards Los Cabos. Children would never be able to do anything but go in the pool because of the surf and undertow. The pool was nice and there is a bar and restaurant at the hotel. We would return because the price was right and it is clean and nicely landscaped. There are lots of stairs so you can not stay here if you have trouble with stairs.
“Nice”
Clean and comfortable place with staff who care.
“Just CHARMING!!”
After reviewing all the website comments we could find we chose this place for its personality, character and the so called 'friendliness' that everyone had commented on. We agree with all of that. We had 4 nights there as part of our Honeymoon in Mexico and it was just perfect. It is definitely a 3 star but is immaculately maintained, the gardens are just beautiful and our room was always spotless. We had several meals at the Restaurant, fabulous food and fairly priced. Staff are friendly and obviously enjoy their job. We will be recommending this little gem to others.
“Nice place on a budget”
My family and I usually stay in a 4 star resort when going to Cabo, and on a last minute trip decided to try this place as it's on the beach and the price was so good. The property was about as I expected, the rooms are older but clean (No TV's which I like) and the property landscape was really pleasant. This hotel reminded me of traveling Mexico 25 years ago. This was a very quiet hotel and relaxing, the beach was about as nice as I have ever seen, reminiscent of Oahu's North Shore, and we saw resident rocker Sammy Hagar taking a walk with his wife. He owns a house up the beach. The only real downfall was the service time in the restaurant. The servers were very friendly and nice; things just took a long time. Not a big deal as long as you don't mind a little waiting on Mexico time :)
“A Find”
The rooms are large and the staff is friendly and very helpful. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxed with a virtually private beach and lovely pool, bar and hot tub area overlooking it. We had a car which made it easy to go to both Cabo San Lucas and Los Cabos as well as beaches that are just off a dirt road. There is a snorkeling beach approximately one mile from the hotel. There is a bus stop there but the car was worth the expense as we went to beaches and restaurants during the day and the nightlife in Cabo. Our refridg did not work and it was replaced the next day. This is an older hotel which is beautiful but is a little tired. In return you get large rooms, kitchenette, personal attention, and excellent prices.
“Lovely quiet hotel on the beach out of town.”
A very quaint Mexican style hotel with lots of tile and plaster in bright colours. It is very photogenic and in a quiet location on the beach out of town. The maintenance leaves a bit to be desired but the large suites are very clean. There is a fridge, microwave and dishes but no stove top or hair dryer. Beach access is easy. The beautiful beach stretches for many kilometres and is very uncrowded. The heavy surf can be a problem for children or weaker swimmers. The hotel is perfect for a quiet rest but some might get bored after a day or two. The 10 to 15 minute trip into San Jose del Cabo or to Cabo San Lucas is by public bus which comes by every 15 minutes or so. The staff are friendly and helpful.
