“A cozy little place far from all the drunken tourists”
When we first checked in, we were about to check right out because the only entrance to each room is a sliding glass patio door. It didn't look safe, and the front desk clerk said he could only give us a single key to use. But we decided to wait and see how we felt after the first day. The place slowly grew on us and when we ended up liking it a whole lot. The toilet flushes. The shower is good, and the air-conditioner hums along nice and quiet and keeps everything cool. Clientele appears to be traveling Mexican tourists from other states and Mexican businessmen. You won't find any spring break coeds here or very many other Americans for that matter. It's quiet and low-key. It's about a ten-minute walk to the waterfront and all the tourist action, but we had a rental car so that didn't really matter, but something to consider if you're going to be on foot without a car. All in all a nice place!
“Hotel Santa Fe a good bargain with simple ammenities”
As many previous reviews have stated, this little hotel is a simple jewel in Cabo San Lucas. It's not fancy, and yes, the beds are AWFULLY firm, but the room had cable TV, A/C, stove, fridge, toaster oven, simple dishes & pots/pans (for long stays, go to the local Costco or larger stores and get an inexpensive eggshell foam mattress pad, then leave it when you go home). My maid was TERRIFIC, & as I spoke Spanish and left a modest tip for her each day, I was treated to anything extra I asked for. The staff was very helpful and friendly. It's a pretty quiet location, 5-6 blocks from downtown, but there's bus service out front and taxi's. Bottled water and basic foods/ necessities were available at the little onsite mini-mart. I never ate at the little on-site cafe, so I can't give a comment on it. It also had excellent security all night!! Overall, I gotta' say, though a bit on the "well used" side, it's a clean, tidy little hotel with everything you need to enjoy a budget minded stay in Cabo San Lucas, so you can keep your $'s for those overpriced Margaritas!!
